Apple's plans to double down on the quality of its iPhone and iPad platforms, rather than rush to introduce new features into the anticipated "iOS 12" later this year, the company will reportedly spread out new features into future software updates, like "iOS 12.1" and beyond could bring big improvements to the iPhone and iPad.
An report says Apple's new strategy will turn into a "major cultural shift," which is just an admission that its recent software updates have suffered from an uncharacteristic number of bugs, ranging from a critical root superuser vulnerability on Mac to iMessages appearing in the wrong order across Apple devices.
With that said, it's not to say that big improvements to iOS are not planned for later this year. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said the new capabilities in the pipeline include Animoji characters in FaceTime, enhancements to Do Not Disturb, deeper integration of Siri into Spotlight search, and a revamped Stocks app.
Other changes in iOS 12 reportedly include a multiplayer ARKit in games, a developer kit allow third-party apps running on iPhones, iPads and Macs, few improvements to Do Not Disturb mode which will give users more options that automatically reject phone calls or silence notifications.
Today's report reiterates main features that are delayed also, such as redesigned home screens on iPhone, iPad, and CarPlay, a redesigned interface when importing photos on the go, tabbed apps on iPad, and the ability to view two screens from the same app side by side on iPad,
