Here Are Top Three Reasons Why Users Won't To Switch To iPhone X, Where 44% Of People Said It Lacks Standout Feature

According to the new survey conducted by Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson and shared by Philip Elmer-DeWitt yesterday morning asked 1,500 people who own an iPhone but did not upgrade to the iPhone X to explain their reasoning.

From the survey which appears that 44 percent of respondents said they had not upgraded because their iPhone works fine, in other words, no standout features compelling them to purchase a new device, while 31 percent said the iPhone X was too expensive at a starting price of $999, eight percent of respondents said the iPhone X's screen isn't large enough.

At the same time, an "Other" category made up the rest of 17% voters, that it could be the removal of headphone jack, the notch which powers True-Depth camera for the Face ID or Animoji, and perhaps they prefer to wait for a smaller iPhone models like the iPhone SE.

The takeaway from our survey is that a larger screen and lower priced option would address the concerns of 40% of iPhone owners that have not upgraded. Despite investor uncertainty around iPhone X, we recommend owning AAPL on potential for a super-long cycle driven by a wider array of ‘X-gen’ devices.

However, Piper Jaffray expects the iPhones coming in 2018 should address most of these issues, with Apple is said to introducing three devices. One will be the successor for the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED display, a second will have a larger 6.5-inch OLED display, and a third will feature a 6.1-inch LCD display with a lower price tag but lacks 3D Touch.
