Apple Offering Battery Replacement Program For Non Touch Bar MacBook Pro That's Made Between October Of 2016 To 2017

Apple has announced a new worldwide battery replacement program for non Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro models. The issue has appeared on a small number of MacBook Pros manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017.

According to Apple, a limited number of these units featured a component that can fail and cause the built-in battery to expand. It is not a safety issue and promised to replace all eligible batteries. The program will be available up to 5 years since the first retail purchase of the non Touch Bar 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Moreover, the company notes that the program will not extend the standard warranty coverage of your device, and for a customer who has already paid for a replacement battery can contact Apple Support to request a refund.

You may check if your MacBook Pro is affected by going to MacBook Pro Battery Replacement page, and enter the serial number of your devices. Users can either find an Apple Authorized Service Provider nor visit an Apple Retail Store for an appointment.
