The Upcoming 6.1-Inch iPhone X To Feature "Full Active LCD" Screen, Launch In November Due To Production Problems

Various rumors and analysts predict that Apple will release three new iPhones this year: the 5.8-inch second-generation iPhone X, 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus, and a 6.1-inch iPhone with an LCD screen. Today, Macotakara said that the 6.1-inch iPhone will use a Full Active LCD screen from JDI.

The Full Active LCD allows for an ultra-small bezel that reduces the bezel to 0.5 mm. For the sake of comparison, the iPhone X's OLED screen has a narrowest bezel of 1 mm. Today's report suggests that the four bezels of the 6.1-inch iPhone are pretty narrow, but no specific numbers are provided.

Moreover, the report notes that Apple is facing production difficulties with the 6.1-inch iPhone X. Mass production is said to begin this month, but the "perfect product rate" is far below the company's expectations. As a result, Macotakara said Apple will be forced to push the 6.1-inch model release date to November.

Believe or not, the upcoming 6.1-inch LCD iPhone X is the most affordable model launched by Apple this year. Of course, since it's priced as low as $600-$700, the company may be to eliminate 3D Touch feature from the device, as it will come with a single-lens rear camera system.
