Apple Officially Lists The First 15-Inch MacBook Pro With Retina Display As "Vintage"

Introduced in 2012, Apple's first 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now is officially listed as "Vintage" or "obsolete" depending what region you are in, according to Apple's vintage and obsolete products list (Via MacRumors).

When a product becomes Vintage and Obsolete, it means that Apple and Authorized Service Providers will no longer repair or service the 2012 MacBook Pro, given over five years have passed since it was last manufactured. The only regions exempted include California and Turkey, where required by law.

The MacBook Pro with Retina Display was released less than a year after Steve Jobs passed away, in a way that many seeks as the peak of Jobs' vision for the Mac. It uses a much slimmer design, adopted a pair of Thunderbolt and USB-A ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and a MagSafe power adapter for better connectivity.

Interestingly, Apple only classified the mid-2012 MacBook Pro with 15-inch Retina display as Vintage, but not the 13-inch model. And, we just reported that what appears to be an upcoming MacBook pro that has been shown off in Geekbench's website, with large jump in performance, so let's wait and see!
