Apple And Its Suppliers To Invest $300 Million For A New Clean Energy Fund In China

Apple just announced the launch of a new clean energy fund project in China in the form of a press release aimed at bringing renewable resources closer to its suppliers. The plan will be managed by a sustainable investment company called DWS Group.

As part of Apple's commitment to climate change and increased supply chain renewable energy use, Apple will invest nearly $300 million in the next four years with the China Clean Energy Fund. The fund will advance and develop more than 1GW of renewable energy in China, that’s equivalent to nearly 1 million households power usage.

At Apple, we are proud to join with companies that are stepping up to address the climate challenge," said Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives. "We're thrilled so many of our suppliers are participating in the fund and hope this model can be replicated globally to help businesses of all sizes make a significant positive impact on our planet."

Companies including Catcher Technology, Compal Electronics, Corning Incorporated, Golden Arrow, Jabil, Luxshare-ICT, Pegatron, Solway, Sunway Communication, and Wistron will invest in the project in the years to come and to make "more attractive and diverse" clean energy solutions.
