If you don't plan to upgrade to the iPhone XS or the iPhone XR, but continue to use your older models, you should consider changing the battery, since the price for a battery replacement will rise from $29 to $79 start from January 1, 2019, that means you can still replace the battery for $29 next month, devices including the iPhone 6 and later are qualified for the limited time offer.

Thus, if you have an iPhone 6 or later and feel you need a battery replacement right away, you can try to go to your local Apple Store today. We’d recommend making a Genius Bar appointment as well as calling ahead to check on the supply of the battery for your specific device, though. Go to the Settings app - Battery - Battery Health to see if the battery is in peak performance power.

Apple says they will throttle performance when the battery become degraded and says they are aiming to smooth out the high power draw peaks that can result in shutdowns and prevent the older devices to "deliver the best experience." Apple is also going to introduce the so-called Power Mangement feature to devices such as the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR eventually.

In a blog post today, Amazon announced that Apple Music will launch on Echo devices as soon as the week of December 17, ahead of the holiday season, and it comes after Apple and Amazon reached the agreement of starting to sell almost all Apple Products again on their website, except for HomePod.

Once it's launched, users will need to enable the Apple Music skill within the Alexa app, and then link their Apple Music account to start listening songs. Apple Music Subscribers can ask Alexa to play their favorite songs, artist, playlists, or even radio stations, and playing over 50 million songs. Echo speakers also supports other music streaming services as well, such as Spotify, Pandora.
“We are committed to offering great music providers to our customers and since launching the Music Skill API to developers just last month, we’ve expanded the music selection on Alexa to include even more top tier services. We’re thrilled to bring Apple Music – one of the most popular music services in the US – to Echo customers this holiday.”
Well, this certainly is a bad news for HomePod, however, since it's specifically designed for Apple Music, but is also an indication that cares Services revenue to the company. Perhaps, the poor sales of the smart speaker may leds Apple to decide bring Apple Music to echo devices.

The iOS 12 installation rate has steadily increased and has surpassed its predecessor iOS 11 for several weeks. According to Mixpanel, on December 17 of last year, the iOS 11 installation rate was 75%, but, iOS 12 has already installed 75% of devices as of yesterday, which is 3 weeks faster than iOS 11.

Currently, the iOS 12 adoption rate is at 75.05%, whereas the iOS 11 is at 19.5%, and the older iOS versions shares rest of the 5.5%. Apple announced on October 10 that iOS 12 adoption rate exceeded 50% and reached 60% on October 29, and rather sooner than later, the company will tout out that its iOS 12 adoption is 70%.

Thanks to the significant speed improvements made on older devices like iPhone 5s or iPhone 6, iOS 12 is able to surpass iOS 11 in terms of adoption rate. Besides, it also brings popular features like the Group Facetime, Digital Health tool called Screen Time, animated emoji called Memoji, Siri Shortcuts for creating custom voice commands, etc. Apple is currently testing iOS 12.1.1.

Meanwhile, Google newest Android update, Android 9 (Pie), didn't even made into the Android adoption list, in which means that the share is under 0.1%, while last year's Android Oreo captured 21.5% share. Apple's iOS 12 has totally destroyed Android Pie when it compared to the adoption rate.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi is out with the latest research report on AirPods, which has given hope to users who awaits the second-generation AirPods wireless headphone. Kuo says that AirPods is the fastest growing Apple products, and expects the growth in shipments in 2018 and 2019 will be about 80% and 90%, respectively, while the annual shipments are expected to reach 100 million units by 2021.

Kuo believes that Apple will launch an upgraded version that supports wireless charging in the first quarter of next year, and even predicts that it will see a big change at the same time in the following year: he claims that the new design version will drive the replacement needs, and to be highly integrated with iOS and Mac products for more innovative user experience.

The analyst estimated that shipments will grow strongly in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, from 26 to 28 million, 50 to 55 million, 70 to 80 million and 1 million to 110 million. respectively. All in all, AirPods is arguably the most popular accessory in Apple's history and the product that has the strongest growth momentum in Apple products thanks to the large iPhone user base.

"More than 1 billion iPhone users worldwide offer a huge potential growth opportunity for AirPods. We believe that even older iPhone users are more likely to purchase AirPods than to upgrade to the new iPhone. At least 5% of iPhone users currently owns AirPods, so AirPods still has plenty of room to grow," says Ming-Chi Kuo, the often reliable Apple analyst.

Despite that many media outlets and supply chain sources claimed that low sales on iPhones and mass production changes, Greg Joswiak, Apple's product marketing chief, sat down for an interview with CNET today to discuss consumer responses to the iPhone XR, where he said that the iPhone XR has been the best-selling iPhone every day since it got released on October 26.

Joswiak pointed out that since that release, iPhone XR is Apple's best-selling iPhone every day that the iPhone XR has: "been our most popular iPhone each and every day since the day it became available", says the Vice President of Product Marketing at Apple, but didn't reveal how much how units they have sold, as the company announced at its last earnings call that it would stop reporting iPhone unit sales.

However, multiple reports suggested that Apple reduced orders for iPhone XR due low-than-expected demand and plus Apple informed supply chain to restart iPhone X production. And, just this Monday, the iPhone XR saw a $100 price cut in Japan over carriers' two-year contract deal,  it's not clear who is telling the truth, but the news will definitely help Apple stock to back on the right track.

In addition, the VP also talked about the ongoing RED partnership, and that they will again promote the World's AIDs Day on December 1st. With every $1 for each purchase made in Apple Pay via Apple Stores, Apple Store app, or Apple.com will donate to the organizations, at the same time, all 125 Apple retail stores logo will turn into red.

Apple introduced Apple Watch Series 4 with ECG function in September, however, users can't use the functionality since the app wasn't enabled. And now, according to an internal Apple Store training document obtained by MacRumors, Apple will enable it in the next watchOS release, which is the watchOS 5.1.2 that we bet will be released within next week.

Because of the government regulations, the ECG app is currently only available to the users in the United States, since it got the FDA clearance, yet, we do expect Apple Watch Series 4 models sold worldwide include the electrical heart sensor will get the feature rather sooner than later. In the meantime, change your Region Settings to the US if you can't wait to give it a shot. Here is how it works:
An ECG measures electrical activity of the heart over a period of time, detecting tiny electrical changes on the skin created by the heart’s electrophysiologic pattern of depolarizing and repolarizing during each heartbeat. An ECG can help detect a variety of cardiac problems.
Once the app is activated, it will generating an ECG similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram after a user place a finger on the Digital Crown while wearing the watch for 30 seconds. Nevertheless, Apple reminds consumers that it's not intended to be a diagnostic device or to replace traditional methods of diagnosis, and should ask your doctor first then to monitor or track diseases.

Following the release of iOS 12.1 last month, Apple has just stopped signing iOS 12.0.1, which means you can’t downgrade to the version anymore. Apple usually stops signing old versions after the release of a new update. However, perhaps in response to the JailbreakMe Unified that allows users to jailbreak their devices on iOS 4 to the iOS 12.0.1 version.

Apple oftently stopped signing certain iOS version as a way of ensuring that users can experience the most recent version of iOS and thus have the latest security fixes as well as performance improvements. Meanwhile, the company is in beta testing iOS 12.1.1 with FaceTime app UI tweak and reintroduced Live Photo feature, as well as expanded the use of iPhone XR's Haptic Touch on Notification Center.

Regarding jailbreak, as we have reported, an iOS hacker called SemVoigtländer is developing a mobile browser-based jailbreak tool that allows users to jailbreak iOS 12.0.1. Since it's in a JailbreakMe style, SemVoigtländer calls the tool as JailbreakMeUnified, if you interested in this tool, check the process by visiting JailbreakMeUnified official GitHub page.

Apple has strict rules when it comes to trade-in: your iPhone must be turned on, it must be in good condition with the functional button, and it can't have a broken display. Though Apple offers recycling it, there is no compromise value for broken iPhones that don't open or broken buttons. iPhones with damaged displays get less trading value, you can go to your local Apple Store to trade-in as well.

Apple is expected to launch the Apple Pay in Belgium on Wednesday, according to the local media De Tijd, and confirmed that the country's largest bank BNP Paribas Fortis will be the exclusive Apple Pay partner, cited people who are familiar with the matter, this follows after German announced the support of the mobile payment system earlier of this month.

After a few months of wait, the drone video producer Duncan Sinfield shared the Apple Park aerial footage again, this time is the Thanksgiving special. Compared with the midsummer season, the appearance of the Apple Park in the late fall has a different flavor and a more layered color, perhaps because it's the season that leaves fall from the tree, and begins to turn into red or yellow.

Speaking to Apple Park, the Steve Jobs Theater inside of the big campus just got the 'Structural Art Engineering Award' for advance in structural glass technology. The Theater is located on one of the highest points in Apple Park, overlooking the landscaping and main spaceship building. It gives us a impression that there is only the glass between the floor and ceiling.

One of the biggest highlights in the Apple Park is the Landscaping, the entire campus is fulfilled with grassland and more than 9,000 local drought-resistant trees, make it truly a place to show that Apple is strongly-focused on environment. Yes, it's also powered by 100% renewable energy, with 17 megawatts of rooftop solar energy, the $5 billion campus runs one of the world's largest on-site solar installations.

So far, the headquarter hosted two Apple events, the first media event was in September 2017, where Apple unveiled products such as iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple TV 4K. This year's September event was also held here, where the company launched new products such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, US President Trump said he might consider signing a 10% tariff on iPhones and Apple products imported from China. Trump is all set to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week and that if the negotiations are going well, he will be prepared to introduce additional tariffs on goods that are currently not taxed.

The report points out that the US government has been worried about the reaction of consumers if these goods need to be taxed, but Trump believes that if they charge 10% tariff on mobile phones and laptops, people will still accept that: "I mean, I can make it 10%, and people could stand that very easily."
He said the tariffs could also be placed on iPhones and laptops imported from China. The administration has been worried about a consumer reaction should such items be subject to levies.

"Maybe. Maybe. Depends on what the rate is," the president said, referring to mobile phones and laptops. "I mean, I can make it 10%, and people could stand that very easily."
Apple had previously sent a letter to the US government urging it not to impose tariffs affecting Apple products, hoping that the government would look for other more effective ways to handle the problem. Currently, Apple devices are all exempt from tariffs, we may see a price hike if Trump plans to implement tariffs. And because of that, Apple's stock has dropped 2.03% in after hours trading.

During today's stock trading, software giant Microsoft was surpassed Apple to become the world's most valuable publicly traded company as a result of Apple's continually declining share price aims reports of lower-than-expected iPhone sales. However, as of now, Apple has returned that title with its market cap of approximately $828 billion, while Microsoft is now slightly less.

The last time that Microsoft matches Apple's stock value was in the mid-2010's, it's understood that the company's advance in cloud business and well-received PC sales all pushed them to grow in value ever since the September quarter, however, analysts expected that they will reach the $1 trillion market cap milestone in 2020, if not in the next year.

For now, Microsoft and Apple are competing for the most valuable company title, Amazon is on the track to race to hit $800 billion valuation crown. Yet, Google did see little increase in stock price, as it now placed at #4 spot when it comes to the most valuable brand in the world, from what it seems like, Apple is likely to be on the top of rank when the market closes today.

What are your thoughts?

Last week, a WSJ report says that Apple will lower the price of the iPhone XR in Japan, since the $750 handset sees a disappointing sales in the country due to carrier contracts. And now, customers in Japan can expect about $100 off over the life of their plan, as we expect other carriers to follow suit in the coming days.

Apple’s strategy to reduce the iPhone XR price in Japan is mainly relies on device subsidies to attract customers,. After all, iPhone XR sales are not as stable as iPhone 8 Plus. Perhaps because of its price, iPhone XR may mirror what happened with the iPhone 5c in 2013. Noted that iPhone dominates the smartphone market in Japan, that being said, hopefully the demand will pick up after the discount.

Due to lower-than-expected demand for XR in the country, Apple is believed to tell carriers to discount XR models more significantly. Japanese customers seem to have not switches to Android, but rather purchased iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. However, don't expect the price of the iPhone XR to drop everywhere. Apple will be considered if it necessary to increase sales by lower iPhone costs.

Lower-than-expected iPhone XS and XS Max sales also leads Apple to restart iPhone X production (which discounted in September) and sell it in certain markets. The problem is we don't know when will it available to consumers, and it's unclear how much they will price the smartphone at. (Via 9to5Mac)

Longhorn (@never _released), a security researcher, said on Twitter that Apple has begun research on the A13, upgraded version of the A12 processor. The code name will be "Lightning" and the internal chip name is "T8030". Although the accuracy of this news is still unclear, we do know that the upcoming A13 Lightning chip will be designed for the 2019 iPhone models.

Previously, the Supply chain believes that TSMC will continue to OEM the A13 processor exclusively. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who has repeatedly leaked Apple's new products, also revealed that the A13 and A14 chips will be manufactured by the chipmaker, which will be used on 2019 and 2020 iPhones.

Better, the A13 processor may even have a customized version, which perhaps just developed for Apple's MacBook. With A12X massive performance, Apple has proved to the outside world that they have The ability to make ARM high-performance processors for laptops, and already capable of using the 7nm process, while Intel continue produce chips in 10nm process.

How to improve the A13 processor is also a worry for Apple. It is necessary to know that the second-generation 7nm process mainly uses the EUV process, which is helpful for improving the difficulty of chip manufacturing. However, in terms of performance, the EUV process doesn't bring any improvement, so I would expect Apple to change the architecture: make it more power efficiency and speedy.

Apple wants to you think that iPad Pro can replace PC. However, although they updated the iPad Pro with powerful hardware, limited by the software, it is still a tablet. Yes, there are still many factors that prevent iPad Pro from completely replacing Mac or other PCs. So we listed several features that could potentially be introduced on iOS 13 and modifies the iPad as a laptop replacement:

1. For many pro users, add some Mac-like features to the iPad Pro will definitely be welcomed, especially when dealing with external devices, they don't need to turn the iPad Pro into a Mac, just have the abilities such as when the iPad Pro is connected to an external monitor, to use a mouse/trackpad, so the cursor can appear on the screen, for easier navigation.

2. One of the biggest obstacles for iPad Pro to replace PC is the fact that you can't read or edit a document on iPad Pro right after plugging in an external storage device. Apple needs to kill the restrictions and allow the File app to read and open a wide variety of files in external storage. Until then, the iPad Pro could not completely replace your computer whatsoever.

3. You might think that the iOS professional app era is coming soon after Adobe announces that it will launch the full Photoshop app on the iPad. Well, Apple has to provide users with more professional applications; despite the iPad Pro has a Pro title, if they did release the iPad Pro version of Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X, then they can truly market it as a PC alternative.

4. Obviously, tablets are more likely to be shared between family or colleagues than phones. The current iOS version includes a single-user account. If Apple can introduce multi-user support for iPad Pro in iOS 13, different accounts can install different apps and setup unique home screen layouts, which will provide a more convenient sharing experience for users.

5. Many users now browse the web on their smartphones, and many websites have their mobile versions, but browsing the web on iPad Pro is kinda waste for such a large screen: it should at least to display the desktop version of most web pages. In addition, Apple should also add more native support to browser-based tools, like View Page Sources and desktop-like Scrolling feature.

In recent years, Apple has been committed to adding health-related features to its products, but most monitoring functions can only be used when users are active, Apple provides little to no monitoring when the user is asleep. However, it appears that Apple has found a great solution. (Via AppleInsider)

Apple acquired the sleep tracking platform Beddit in May 2017. Beddit provides detailed information about sleep quality, such as heart rate, breathing, etc., by allowing users to place a small tracker under their sheets and then using the accompanying iOS and Apple Watch apps.

The company's latest patent application, called "multi-element piezo sensor for in-bed physiological measurements" intends to further track the movements of the user during the sleep cycle, the core of which is to determine the point of contact between the person and the bed by using a piezoelectric film on the surface of the bed.

The new patent proposes two solutions, one is to use a long piece of film similar to the Beddit sensor on the bed, which corresponds to the user's chest position. The second uses even more sensors to cover the entire surface of the bed. This solution can monitor can gather more user information, such as the user's sleeping position, yet, it's unclear if Apple really intends to use a piezo film in a particular product.

According to the latest data released by Google Trends, the peak of global users searching for "iPhone" the keyword through Google appeared in September 2012, before and following the release of iPhone 5. Based on this data, they pointed out that users' interest in the iPhone has dropped. But does it really means that consumers are less purchasing iPhones? Well, here are our thoughts on that matter.

Google Trends reports that this year's Google search peak on the "iPhone" keywords is only half of that 2012 peak, this year's iPhone search peak appeared during the Apple September event. Google Trends’ data is just a reference for analyzing users’ interest in the iPhone. It doesn't take into account other ways that users to gather information about new products, such as social media and uses other search engines, considering its privacy issues.

Also, It does not tell the user why someone is searching for a product, and other buyers would rather search for "iPhone XS" or "iPhone XR" instead of directly "iPhone." Perhaps most importantly, Google Trends does not match the number of users who brought iPhones. Apple has sold 125 million iPhones in 2012, and this year, even though users are “not so interested” with the iPhone, Apple has sold nearly 217 million iPhones.

To honor its legendary co-founder and former CEO, Apple's new headquarter - Apple Park's theater is named after Steve Jobs, and the 1,000-seat auditorium entrance is a 20-foot, 165-foot glass cylinder that supports a metal-carbon fiber roof. The Steve Jobs Theatre is located on one of the highest points in Apple Park, overlooking the landscaping and main spaceship building.

The Apple Park replaces 5 million square feet of asphalt and concrete with grassland and more than 9,000 local drought-resistant trees and is powered by 100% renewable energy. With 17 megawatts of rooftop solar energy, the $5 billion campus runs one of the world's largest on-site solar installations. It is also one of the largest naturally ventilated buildings in the world and is expected to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year.

Now, the Steve Jobs Theatre earned the Structural Art Engineering Award from the Institute of Structural Engineers. According to the Institute, the award is "for projects in which what could otherwise have been an adequate and worthy solution has been transformed by the vision and skill of the structural engineer into something exceptional." Judges said that like the way they make the wires and pipes invisible, given them an impression of there is only the glass between the floor and ceiling.

The first media event at the Steve Jobs Theatre was in September 2017, when Apple unveiled products such as iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple TV 4K. This year's September event was also held here, where we welcomed new products such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4.

Black Friday is beginning very soon, and a few days ago Apple announced that it will host a "4-day shopping event." Now, the Australian region is already Friday, and the sales already went online. Many consumers will receive free Apple Store gift cards worth up to $200 when purchase select new Apple products.

However, it should be noted that there's no gift card for the latest devices. To get a gift card, you can only buy old devices. To iPhone, only iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are available for the offer. For iPad, only the 9.7-inch iPad, 10.5-inch iPad and iPad mini 4 can obtain it.  Yet, on the Mac side, the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar can score a gift card; the old MacBook Air is qualified for a gift card as well.

Apple TV: $25 gift card
HomePod: $50 Gift Card
Beats Headphones: $50 Gift Card
Apple Watch Series 3:50 USD Gift Card
iPhone: $50 gift card
iPad: $100 gift card
Mac: $200 gift card

Besides Apple, third-party retailers also giveaway discounts, for instance, Micro Center will be offering $99 to $149 off the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models starting on Black Friday, Macy's, however, is discount the Apple Watch Series 3 for $80 off, Walmart has probably one of the best Apple product deals, they will be gifting a $300 - $400 gift card when purchasing iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XS, as well as the iPhone XS Max and XR.

According to sources from the Wall Street Journal, Apple will lower the price of the iPhone XR in Japan, with the price reduction strategy will start as soon as next week, since the $750 iPhone sees a disappointing sales in the country due to carrier contracts. In addition, the iPhone 8 is still very popular in Japan. Currently, it is unclear how much the iPhone XR price will be lowered.

Apple’s strategy to reduce the iPhone XR price in Japan is mainly to better promote this new handset. After all, iPhone XR sales are not as stable as iPhone 8 Plus. Perhaps because of its price, iPhone XR may mirror what happened with the iPhone 5c in 2013, then the demand picked up the following year, analysts predicted.
Analysts say weaker-than-expected demand for iPhone XR may mirror what happened with the iPhone 5c in 2013, where sales picked up the following year. Apple's higher-priced XS and XS Max models, released a month earlier, appeal more to tech's early adopters who typically fuel initial sales of new iPhones.
At the same time, Apple plans to restart iPhone X production (which discounted in September) and sell it in certain markets. For Apple, lowering the price of a product is a very rare case. In some markets, If the sales of the device fall short of expectations, Apple will choose a price reduction strategy. One again produce the iPhone X allows Apple to consume exceedingly OLED screen components, it's unclear which specific countries or regions' consumers will be available to purchase this.

The Information is out with a report that in order to promote the upcoming original content service, Apple may preparing to launch a TV dongle product, similar to the Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Information claims Apple had an internal discussion about a low-cost streaming TV stick product that can be plugged into the back of the user's TV. Of course, the report did not entirely confirm that the final product will really be available to users, because Apple may be considering a number of different projects.

If Apple finally chooses to launch such a product, it will bring serious moves to its set-top box business, because the current Apple TV products ain’t cheap, for example, Apple released a $149 tvOS-based Apple TV in 2015, two years later, the company debuted Apple TV 4K for $179 for just added the 4K experience.

The US smart TV market is just the opposite, and prices are usually at the low end of double digits. But it’s worth to note that Apple will offer a free original content streaming service, so that will please users to purchase the device since the upcoming streaming service would be launched as soon as next year.

The latest research report that was written by Trendforce seeks to explore the cause of why Apple's market share in laptop dropped by a whopping 24.3% in Q3, which led the company to be secured in the fifth place rather than fourth as they once were. Apple has a 7.9% laptop market share in Q3 2018, in contrast, the share was 10.4% a year ago, and it happens in a time that the overall market demand suppose to be increasing.

Trendforce notes that even though Apple has adopted a much powerful new processor in its high-end MacBook Pro, the performance improvements are not able to draw consumers' attention to this machine but rather was shocked by the high price tags. Indeed, Apple was unable to catch up other laptop makers, behind HP, Lenovo, Asus, and Dell.
Apple and Acer showed similar performances in Q3, shipping 3.36 million and 3.35 million units respectively. Compared with their performances in the same period of last year, however, Apple post significant declines but Acer registered growth. Apple this year adopted a new processor in its high-end MacBook Pro with OLED Bar, but the performance improvements hardly attract more customers due to the series’ high price tags.
Some speculate that perhaps people were waiting for the new MacBook Air, which is already on sale, a number of customers were hoping to hands-on the new Mac mini. In the comment section of many tech blogs, it seems that the price was the big reason that holds the users back, users' blames also goes to the lack of new technologies as well as the issues it had with Butterfly Keyboard.

Google has rolled out its latest update to the Assistant app for iOS, and for the first time, it includes a Siri Shortcuts feature. Google Assistant users will able to see an "Add to Siri" button following the update that lets them record a phrase of their choosing to be used like "Hey Google" or "OK Google".

As we have tested that after the Assistant Shortcuts added to Siri, you can invoke Google's AI assistant using Apple's virtual assistant, without even having to launch the app, as long as the device is unlocked, or else you will need to unlock it to process the request. The Verge notes that you can trigger Voice commands you use the most, like "Hey Google, Search Loveios", Siri will invoke the app and do that for you.
You can also set up Siri shortcuts for phrases you frequently use with Assistant. So you can come up with a custom voice command for a single smart home action — or even trigger your Google Assistant smart home routines inside of Siri. Saying something like “Goodnight Google” to Siri could open Assistant and run a routine like turning off all your lights and locking the door. Pretty neat.
Surely it will open a lot of possibilities for users, but it's not exactly the most seamless approach in the world, as users perhaps prefer Assistant to be their voice assistant. Now to add the custom Assistant shortcuts, go to the Shortcuts app, scroll down until you see the "Create Shortcut", tap on it, and then click on the Search bar, scroll down, and choose the Assistant icon, and you should able to add most frequently used voice commands.

The Swiss watch industry is world-renowned, and watches from Swiss luxury watch manufacturers are known for their mechanical precision and expensive pricing, but the emergence of the Apple Watch has created another history - Apple has become the world's largest watchmaker, which it has achieved eye-catching market results, the traditional watch industry, on the other hand, suffered from it.

Although the high-end luxury watches and Apple Watch are not comparable each other, some of the popular low-end entry brands are greatly affected, such as Swatch, Fossil Group, and other brands. Their product prices are on the same gradient as the new Apple Watch Series 4: they are experiencing tremendous competitive pressure from Apple.

The success of Apple Watch has led to a rethinking in the traditional watch industry. In response to the challenge from Apple's, Swiss watch manufacturers are now increasingly accepting to adding various smart technologies to their traditional mechanical watches. From the current point of view, some watch makers did get well-received results, yet, others still facing criticization from its long-term consumers.

Following reports of Apple cuts iPhone XR and XS orders, the company stock price has been going down hill sharply, in fact, its share price has fallen more than 20% from its October 3 High, in which means that it has entered a bear market, since it fell by 3.96 during yesterday's trading.

In less than two month, AAPL price went from $232 per share to just $177 a share as of now, it total, it has dropped $46 in stock value, its market cap, however, also got a hit, which is currently sit at the $880 billion value, once was over $1 trillion, the worst month since the Financial Crisis.

Yet, other tech companies are now in a bear market as well. For example, Alphabet’s stock closed Monday at $1,020 a share, a 20% decline from its record high of $1,273.84 a share in late July. While Amazon has lost 26.3% of its value since early September, and Facebook’s stock has dropped 38.8% since late July.

Though November has been a rough month for Apple and its stock investors, the company is still forecasting revenue growth in a declining market. Seeking Alpha points out that Apple is making good progress in diversifying its business from its overreliance on the iPhone, so they think it's best to time to invest in AAPL.

Apple has long promoted the iPad Pro as one of the best alternatives to computers, they have shared a video this afternoon through its official YouTube channel to further prove that point, which lists five reasons that the latest 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros that could be your next computer.

Apple says that it is more powerful than most computers; it's a scanner, camera, editing suites, notepads, theaters, music studios, books, and a computer; it equipped with LTE that access the internet anywhere, it's also easy to use (refers to the gesture operation); and it gets even better with the Apple Pencil.

Still, many people would argue that the iPad Pro has a long way to go before it can fully become a functional computer for most people, some folks even suggest them to put macOS into the tablet. The most wanted features that consumers are happy including a true file system, ability to store documents, a way to use the mouse, should bring Xcode to the platform, or just develop the so-called iPadOS system.

One thing is for sure that the new iPad Pro packed with desktop-class specs and a variety of new technology additions, it uses a 12.9-inch full-screen, Face D, built-in A12X chip, the industrial leading ARM processor, plus USB-C port, GPU controllers, plus super responsive Apple Pencil with wireless charging, and so on.

Apple is doing something different for this year's Black Friday. It will announce a four-day shopping event from November 23rd to November 26th. The event is clearly centered in the US Thanksgiving holiday, but discounts will be offered in many parts of the world. Click here to add it to your calendar.

For Black Friday, Apple barely give discount any of its products, usually only limited to gift cards, so it's interesting to see what changes and what type sales on what products are expected to be provided. The page says "Save the dates" to remind you of the event that started on Friday.

Besides Apple, other sales have already kicked off today at numerous online and physical retailers, including the Best Buy, Amazon, eBay, Target, and Walmart, and many more! There is also the so-called Cyber Monday shopping day where online retailers encouraging people to shop online, Apple's event will last until this day.

Not long ago, a number of Apple suppliers have lowered their sales expectations, which means that the sale performance of the new iPhone does not seem to be as expected. Today, news from the Wall Street Journal said that Apple continues to cut orders, with time time including the iPhone XS and XS Max, a claim made by the people who familiar with the matter.

Due to the slower growth of the overall global smartphone market and the low demand in the Chinese market, Apple seems unable to predict the how much they will sold with these three new iPhones, it is said that report of iPhone orders being cutted also frustrating several of its suppliers. however, they also make products competitors, so it doesn't necessarily means it's Apple's fault.

At the moment, it is unclear how the iPhone sales are lower than expected for Apple. Though the sales of the new iPhone are lower than expected, the old iPhones like the X, 8 Plus, and even the 7 remains very popular, plus that Apple's Service business is also very successful.

Earlier this month, reports that claimed the iPhone XR orders were cut by a third, while iPhone XS and XS Max orders were cut in small amounts, which led to a 5% drop in Apple stock AAPL, but also lost the Trillion-dollar market cap crown and $100B in stock value.

If we say that Privacy is the fundamental human rights, then Apple is the guard of it, there are no such tech companies that are so strict on the Privacy concerns. On its own operating systems, Apple has set up many protections just for that reason, it will be our great loss if we do not take advantage of it, so today I will make sure to help you further protect your basic human rights with those appropriate steps.

1. Turn off your Location Acess:

Some apps like Facebook or Twitter requires you to turn on Location Acess to tag a place when you post, yet, if you don't want to be tracked, you should select either "While Using the app" or "Never" instead of "Always" by going to the Settings app, Privacy section, and then the Location Services.

2. Turn off access to the Microphone and Camera if needed:

While there are apps that need the microphone and camera use permissions, like the Google Assistant, but most apps should not obtain the access to the microphone and camera, shall be switched off, considering that they may use the access to leak pieces of information to other people by quietly record voices or take photos in the background, it's better to them off.

3. Switch on "Block All Cookies" in Safari app:

Pretty much all websites use cookies to provide relevant services for you and show information that might be of interest to you. Google Adsense, for example, apply cookies that determine what kind of ads to display on a web page. Indeed, with iOS 12, you can block all cookies in Safari, a way to ensure your website doesn't track you, but also reduce ads as possible. To enable it, go to the Settings -> Safari, and then switch it off.

4. Manage Your Background App Refresh:

Background App Refresh, a feature that allows any app for iPhone or iPad to appear to be multitasking all the time, in which means apps will track your phone all the time, may be able to collect devices' info and analyze the user's behavior of using apps, that is how Facebook developing features, you definitely should turn it off, a way to save battery life as well.

Lately, designer Hasan Kaymak created an iPhone XR 2 concept phone without any buttons and ports and the Notch. Compared to Apple's iPhone XR, which was just released, the biggest change to the iPhone XR 2 was that it didn't provide any physical buttons and ports, means that all wired connections were abandoned, according to the Concept Phones website.

It featured with a single camera like the current iPhone XR and implements iPhone XS-like camera technology with AI algorithms. The phone not only has a more energy-efficient lithium-ion battery that can last for several days but also adds a "magnetic battery" that can generate electricity by itself. Better, Touch ID was being introduced back, with this time is under the display.

Design wise, the edge-to-edge, true full screen, and buttonless iPhone is the straight version of Oppo Find X, which I personally think it’s the most beautiful smartphone ever made, its body is different than any other “ top-notch” flagship experience, so the so-called iPhone XR 2 Concept Phone will definitely get my fully attention. However, the things that’s unique from the Find X are the back panel and the operating system.

Well, we would not expect Apple to release the smartphone until 2020, as rumors already suggests that the company will continue embrace the notch design, and for a such title; iPhone XR 2, I think iPhone XF will be more sustainable, which the “F” stands for full-screen. Anyway, considering the overall design and specifications, Apple will very likely priced the smartphone above $1200 for starting price.

Ever since Apple has issued a statement that it's official existing from the wireless router business in April, the company still sold AirPort products have been discontinued, like the AirPort Extreme and the 2TB AirPort Time Capsule. However, these wireless routers are no longer available from Apple.com anymore.

Though you can't buy AirPort from the online store or retail locations, yet some refurbished devices that may continue to be available on the refurbished site and perhaps there are still little bit of stock in some third-party retailers such as Target and Best Buy. Instead AirPort, Apple now recommends you to buy a Linksys Velop mesh Wi-Fi system, best alternative to Apple's own wireless router.

Last time Apple refreshed its AirPort products goes way back to 2013 (Extreme and Time Capsule), As Bloomberg reported back in late 2016, Apple has begun shutting down its AirPort unit in early 2016, in an effort to "sharpen" its focus on the "consumer products that generate the bulk of its revenue." A good news is Applet to continue providing service for current AirPort Base Stations for at least the next five years.

While there are also a lot of newer routers that offers similar design from the AirPort products, such as the eeroNetgear Orbi, and so much more!

Apple updated its online store Certified Refurbished page this week. Compared to previous websites, this newly designed page uses larger images, and easier navigate different categories of refurbished products. In recent years, other parts of Apple.com have also begun to use many of the more modern designs, such as the Privacy and Apple ID page.

Following the update, Apple now reminds users next to the big picture: “Like new products backed by a one-year warranty and the Apple Certified Refurbished promise.” Scroll down, each Apple-certified refurbished product undergoes a rigorous refurbishment process, it also offers Free two day delivery, as well as the Applecare service and Special Financing option.
Every Apple Certified Refurbished product completes a rigorous refurbishment process that includes full testing that meets the same functional standards as new Apple products. Your refurbished device is truly “like new,” with special savings of up to 15%.
On the website, Apple also provides a more visible navigation for refurbished products, including Mac, iPad and clearance products. Below this navigation, Apple also lists a selection of offers, including the iPhone 7 and 8, iPad mini 4, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and MacBook Pro models, as it tells users how much it can save by purchasing certain product.

Like last week, Apple has released updates on its 4 operating systems and apps today, including the iOS 12.1.1, macOS 10.14.2, tvOS 12.1.1, watchOS 5.1.2 to developers, as it announced new update its Final Cut Pro app, a macOS app that developed for video editing. We have summarized these updates in details below:

For the iOS 12.1.1 betas 3, which Apple just seeded hours ago, it reintroduced Live Photo for FaceTime app, meaning you can take Live Photo when you FaceTime other folks; you can now also use iPhone XR's Haptic Touch feature in Notification Center; give you an option to turn off Physical SIM if you prefers eSIM.

As far as other software updates concerned, there is no much to say other than mirror bug fixes or speed improvements. Like always, you can test these betas by downloading it via Apple's official Developer Center.

Final Cut Pro, today also got some exciting new features, such as the ability of support for third-party workflow extensions, enhance the experience when video editing, Shutterstock, for instance, allows you to add stock footage to your videos. Alongside third-party extension support, there's a new floating timecode window as well, and new noise reduction, which obviously reduce noise in low light footage.

According to Bloomberg, Apple is actively hiring engineers at Qualcomm headquarters in San Diego, they are looking for designers who can help the company develop iPhone wireless components and chips, a move that will further weaken Qualcomm, one of the largest chipmaker in the world, considering it's in battle in its dispute with Qualcomm on patent lawsuits.

In the past month, Apple has released 10 job postings in San Diego, California to find engineers to help the company research neural network engine artificial intelligence processors and wireless modems. It's the first time that Apple has publicly recruited these types of talent in the area for such thing.
This month, Apple published 10 job listings on its website for chip design-related positions located in the city, marking the first time the Cupertino, California-based technology giant has publicly recruited for such roles in the Southern California hotbed for chip design. Apple is advertising for engineers to work on multiple types of chip components, including engineers to work on the company’s Neural Engine artificial intelligence processor and wireless chips.
It was reported that Apple was developing its own wireless chip for future iPhone models, however, so far, Apple still relies on companies such as Qualcomm and Intel to develop such technologies. After the battle with Qualcomm (not over yet), Apple chose Intel as the main wireless modern supplier of iPhone XS, XS Max, as well as iPhone XR, and expected it to supply these moderns in next year.

Luna Display was once made the iPad as a secondary screen, but this time since the Mac mini itself had no display, so they make the iPad now the main display. Astropad also said that this time, the Mac mini supports iPad Pro display the company says it's like a "whole new product", as it can run macOS on the iPad, however. you will also need the Astropad app, other than Luna Display dongle.
This setup truly combines the best of both Mac and iPad, with the processing power of the Mac Mini and the edge-to-edge retina display of the iPad. Using Luna, we're able to take full advantage of every pixel on the iPad at full retina resolution. HomePod, Apple's first smart speaker that introduced at WWDC last year, priced at $349, it's indeed the sky-high price that pulls many users away from purchasing the high-end handset. However, the company now offers HomePod with $299 price tag, although it is a refurbished product, but the speaker still received good care of it and functioning like the new one.

Refurbished HomePod is available in both white and space gray for $299, a decent $50 discount off of the regular price. Apple confirmed that its T2 security chip may block some third-party repairs for Mac users. according to The Verge. As mentioned in the documentation, any Mac equipped with a T2 security chip, the AST 2 system configuration software must be running to complete the entire repair process, if the step skipped, the macOS will not be power on and the repair will not be completed.

Simply put, the new generation of T2 chip Macs need to run a diagnostic, including motherboards and Touch ID sensors. However, Apple did not announce which components required software diagnostic. The devices with T2 chip includes MacBook, iMac Pro, Mac mini, and the new MacBook Air.
For Macs with the Apple T2 chip, the repair process is not complete for certain parts replacements until the AST 2 System Configuration suite has been run. Failure to perform this step will result in an inoperative system and an incomplete repair.
Apple T2 security chip, mainly focus own security, it not only protects the information of the Touch ID, but also ensures that the software loaded during the boot process will not be tampered with. At the same time, the chip is also featured with a solid state drive controller that supports real-time data encryption to secure everything you store on a solid state drive.

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has approved a new patent from Apple, according to the patent, Apple intends to develop a "real full-screen" design with a camera and a must-have sensor array completely put together in a small cutout, the patent applications was filled on June 27 this year.

Apple specifically summarized it as an exclusive solution to how to achieve "real full-screen", which mentioned how to hide the camera inside the panel, this solution is especially suitable for products that uses all glass such as the LCD displays. As you can see from the picture below, the device has a cutout in the upper right corner of the screen, and then inserts those sensors into the cutout.

From the patent description, which also talked about what materials might be used to make such cutout. Apple claims that aluminosilicate glass (such as Corning's DVTS glass) will be a glass material suitable for the cutout. Other glass materials include but are not limited to soda-calcium, borosilicate, etc.

Of course, the technology is also designed for other products, including laptops (ie MacBook), as well as tablets (such as iPad). Samsung and LG also filled similar patents. In any case, whether Apple will implement a "true full screen" design in the new iPhones in 2019, we have to wait another whole year to find out!

Ming-Chi Kuo's latest research note apparently cutting his shipment estimates for the iPhone XR down to 70 million units, which previously was 100 million. He lists several factors such as the ongoing trade war with China, users' expectation for a affordable device, as well as competition from other smartphone brand like Huawei, he believes that the decline will be offset by higher demand for iPhone XS.

We have reduced our iPhone XR shipment estimation from 100mn units to 70mn during the new product lifecycle (4Q18–3Q19) for the following reasons: 1) Negative impacts on consumer confidence from the trade war, especially in the Chinese market, 2) expectations from more users for more affordable XR or the dual-camera and narrower bezel design to be provided at the current price level, and 3) competition from Huawei's Mate 20 series. We have reduced our XR shipment estimations for 4Q18, 1Q19, and 2Q19 by 30–35%, 25–30%, and 25–30% to 30–35, 20–25, and 10–15mn units, respectively.
The analyst also reducing his overall iPhone shipment forecasts by 15–20 percent for the first quarter of 2019. Kuo also lowered his first-quarter estimate to only 47–52 million from a previous range of 55–60 million. Since Apple has stopped reporting iPhone sales, it will be tough to find out that how many they sold and made how much money from it.

Impacted by the news, Apple's stock today isn't pretty, as matter of fact, the stock dropped 4% as of right now, its market cap also went to from 1.05 trillion a couple weeks ago to $930 billion at the current time.

Time has come to the last two months of 2018, all of Apple's new products that should be released this year are probably begins to ship to users. Like last year, there's also three new iPhone models this year, all of which use a controversial "Notch" screen. However,, their long-awaited iPhone SE 2 is nowhere to be found, considering it's been rumored for nearly one year.

The small-screen iPhone was initially thought to be announced at the media event in the spring of 2018, and then it was passed to WWDC 2018, which was in June. The remaining hope were all down to the September Event. In fact, since the beginning of 2018, few sources pointed out that Apple's 4-inch new iPhone SE 2 project has been abandoned.

There are plenty of signs in this year that the new iPhone SE 2 may be available to users, not only the sources of the supply chain told us so, but also a couple of CAD renderings, and cases from accessories manufacturers. Among those, the most appealing one should be the iPhone SE 2 rendering from Olixar, who makes cases for iPhone devices, it appears look like the hybrid of iPhone 5s + iPhone X.

Despite all these rumors and leaks about the iPhone SE 2, the hope of a new iPhone SE has completely vanished. But why? First, Apple is "very busy" this year, and the internal development resources are expensive. The other is to sell the three new-generation iPhone models with more expensive prices and larger screen sizes, which could cause unnecessary confusion.

Will the iPhone SE 2 never debut again?. Well no, there are analysts' predictions, supply chain leaks, as well as resources from accessory vendors, etc., indicating that iPhone SE 2 may have been in Apple's plan. Therefore, we could said iPhone SE 2 was not entirely dead, but it may have been postponed until 2019. Even Apple will launch it, the screen might be bigger than the current one.

Apple has confirmed that there are problems with the 128 GB and 256 GB Solid State Drives (SSDs) used in the 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro (non-touch bar) device, which can result in data loss and hard drive failure. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with the affected hard drive was sold between June 2017 and June 2018.

Apple or Authorized Service Provider (AASP) will repair the affected hard drive for free. Apple recommends repairing your hard drive as soon as possible. If the customer has encounter issues, the company will send them an email about the program. Be sure to back up your data before it gots troubleshooting, as your hard drive will be erased during the process, which will take roughly an hour.

On the other hand, Apple has determined that some of the iPhone X's display may have touch problems due to a possible component failure on the iPhone X display module. For example, the display does not respond or intermittently responds to touch actions or will respond even if you didn't tap the screen.

Apple and its Authorized Service Provider will replace the display module for free for eligible devices. Ahead of the repair, customers are recommended to back their Phones to iTunes or iCloud, as they warn that other damage would occur during the process. For users that already replaced the display, they can contact Apple Support for a refund.
