Apple Debuts All-New iPad Air And iPad Mini With A12 Chip And Apple Pencil Support

This morning, Apple's Apple Store entered maintenance mode. Everyone speculated that there would be new products to be released soon. Sure enough, after the maintenance, two new iPad models were debuted: the 2019 iPad Air and iPad mini.

The overall design of the new iPad Air and iPad mini has not changed from the previous generation, but the performance has been improved. Both models are now updated to the A12 Bionic processor, with the iPad Air featuring a 10.5-inch retina display with True Tone display technology, 264 ppi 2224 x 1668 resolution, and support for Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard.

However, the new iPad Air still retains the Touch ID and 3.5mm headphone jacks, with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel front camera for up to 10 hours of battery life The Air model is available in three colors: silver, gold, and space gray. The price ranges from 64GB to $499 and 256GB to $649.

On the other hand, the new iPad mini is also upgraded to A12 Bionic, which is 3 times faster than the iPad mini 4. The new iPad mini adds Apple Pencil support, a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 resolution, 326 ppi retina display with True Tone display technology.

Furthermore, both iPad Air and iPad Air saw the same Wi-Fi performance and Gigabit‑class LTE that's built into the latest iPad Pro models.
"iPad continues to provide magical new experiences for a growing range of uses where it is the absolute best device, from playing games in augmented reality to note-taking and drawing with Apple Pencil, from streaming HD movies and editing 4K films to learning to develop apps with Swift Playgrounds," said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "Today the iPad family takes two big leaps forward with an all-new 10.5-inch iPad Air that brings high-end size, features and performance at a breakthrough price, and a major upgrade to the 7.9-inch iPad mini, which also brings Apple Pencil, Retina display and the A12 Bionic chip to the many customers that love its compact size."
Unfortunately, the AirPods and AirPower that everyone is looking for are not on the stores in this update, and may not be released until later this year.
