Apple Supplier Foxconn Starts To Produce iPhone X In India This July

According to the "Economic Times" report, Taiwan's based electronic manufacturer Foxconn will start assembling iPhone X for Apple in India begins this July. An informed executive said that Foxconn's production at the plant in India will start with the iPhone X series, as it expects to expand mass production capacity and gradually produce more models of iPhones in the future."

Apple has already assembling iPhone SE and iPhone 6s in India. Since the beginning of March, Wistron, another iPhone manufacturer, has been producing iPhone 7 for Apple at the Bangalore plant to expand Apple's “Made in India” product portfolio.

Apple is keen to expand the "Made in India" product portfolio. iPhone X will be the fourth Apple smartphone to be made in India after the iPhone 7, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE.

Due to the tariff preferences offered by the Indian government, the company's cost of producing iPhones in India is lower than the cost of imports. Therefore, in the case of the iPhone X, Apple is likely to cut the price of it and will make it compete with the lower-cost iPhone XR, which has just seen a sharp price reduction in the country.
