Apple TV Channel Pick Up Support For HBO In Latest iOS and tvOS Betas

Back in March, Apple announced its revamped TV app for both iOS and tvOS, which includes a new "Channel" feature that allows users to subscribe to limited number of providers and watch all of the content in the TV app without opening other apps. At first it was limited to Showtime, Starz, Smithsonian, and Tastemade, and now it appears that the feature has picked up support for HBO.

Now you may be wondering how is this gonna work? Well, you pay $15 per month for HBO through the TV app, and then all of the HBO content will be available within the TV app. However, one thing to keep in mind is that if you already subscribed to HBO Now, Apple won't allow you to hook up your account to the Apple TV Channel.

It's worth to note that with the Apple TV Channel integration, you can download HBO content for offline viewing, something that's impossible with the HBO Now app. Best of all, all content can be streamed by Apple itself, which means you can view them in the TV app on iOS, tvOS, and on later this year on macOS.

When the new TV app is released publicly on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV alongside new software updates later this month, Apple TV channel will support other tv streaming providers include CBS All Access, Nickelodeon, Mubi, The History Channel Vault, Comedy Central Now, Acorn TV, Britbox, Noggin, MTV Hits and Shudder.
