Apple's Future iPads And MacBook Models To Adopt OLED Screens

Samsung is the sole provider of OLED screens for Apple iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS. Apple's iPhone sales have been smaller than anticipated in the latest quarters, meaning that Samsung's ordered amount of OLED screens from Apple is also lower than expected, which has led Apple now owes Samsung a multi-hundred million dollar fine due to the reduction in orders.

Apple, however, provides a few alternatives to Samsung instead of directly paying in cash. One option is to get Samsung to offer OLED orders for its future tablets and laptops. The report, via ET News of South Korea, revealed that Samsung and Apple are negotiating, with the former is planning to produce OLED displays for the 16-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.

Additionally, Apple will launch a range of Mini-LED backlighting hardware in the next two years, including 10-12-inch iPad Pro at the end of 2020 or early 2021, and 15-17-inch MacBook in the first half of 2021. We don't comprehend how far we're from OLED iPad and Mac at the moment.

Apple first introduced the OLED screen on the Apple Watch, and then OLED arrived on the iPhone X. In the future, we can expect OLED screens to be gradually applied by iPad Pro and MacBookPro.
