New Apple Watch Models Reportedly To Include Sleep Tracking Features

Since the purchase of sleep tracking company Beddit in 2017, rumors have suggested that Apple is set to unveil the Apple Watch sleep tracking feature. Now, according to a report by 9to5Mac, who quoted source inside Apple that this functionality will likely to be announced by Apple in the next week's iPhone-focused event at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus.

This feature lets users choose to wear an Apple Watch to sleep so that Apple Watch can use a variety of sensors to monitor the user's sleep quality while the user is sleeping, including the user's (turn over) action, heart rate and noise (should mean snoring). The user's sleep quality data can be viewed in the health app on the user's iPhone, and Apple is anticipated to bring a new sleep app to Apple Watch.

Additionally, Apple also regarded the issue of wearing the Apple Watch while sleeping, which would take up the night of charging time. For this purpose, a special mechanism has been developed to remind the user to charge Apple Watch in advance and to help the user arrange the charging time intelligently.

The report also stated that when you sleep with Apple Watch, if you wake up before the alarm begins, the system will automatically switch off the alarm. And the alarm clock will only be allowed on Apple Watch, sp the iPhone will only be used as a backup. Also, the user can choose a silent mode, which is only reminiscent of the vibration of the Apple Watch, and that it will not bother the family. The new sleep scheme automatically allows DND when you are in bed.

Apple's sleep tracking feature for Apple Watch does not require additional hardware support. The new feature of internal codename is "Burrito" and will be called "Time in Bed tracking". Finally, the report adds that the new Apple Watch will include five new complications that are inspired by the classic Nike Windrunner running jacket, but the complications may be limited to the Apple Watch Nike model.

It is still unclear whether Apple will ultimately limit this feature to the new Apple Watch models, or make it compatible with older models as well, guess we will find out on the event next week!
