The Always-On Retina display is a new addition to the Apple Watch’s display, which makes important information viewable even when raising or tapping the watch isn’t possible. This is a great addition to the glancing feature introduced in Apple Watch Series 2 back in 2016. Similar to this particular feature, the Always-On Retina Display allows the time and other information on-screen visible at all times, by lighting up the screen when the wrist is raised and dimming it down when it’s not. The new display of the Apple Watch Series 5 has a low-temperature polysilicon and oxide display, also known as LTPO. This type of display uses less power, effective power management and a new ambient light sensor to give the watch 18 hours of battery life. The last of the Apple Watch Series 5 features go to the international emergency services calling feature. In case Apple Watch wearers are in an emergency situation or fell down to the ground, they can make emergency calls even when they are travelling in a foreign country. This can also work with fall detection and regardless if the Apple Watch is purchased in that particular country or not. It can only be used on GPS and cellular models of Apple Watch Series 5.
