16-Inch MacBook Pro To Ship This Quarter, New Image Of Touch ID Being A Separate

We have been hearing a lot about the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which was rumored to launch by the end of the month, well, here we are, at the very end of the October, and there's still no sign of the premium notebook. Nevertheless, the latest report from the Taiwanese publication DigiTimes claimed that Apple will begin receiving volume shipments of the laptop in the fourth quarter of this year.


The report suggests that Quanta Computer will be the key supplier to the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It also detailed that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will have a smaller bezel layout with the same overall size as the 15-inch MacBook Pro, but with a larger display.

Also, a image of the suspected 16-inch MacBook Pro found in macOS Catalina 10.15.1 seems to imply that a launch in on the horizon. As can be seen from the image, the Touch bar and Touch ID of this device got separated, which could also means that the ESC key will use separate physical buttons in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It's worth to noted that the alleged 16-inch MacBook Pro icon contained in MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta has been removed from the update, but what's sure is that Apple is not in a rush to release this model.

Speaking of that, reports of Apple begins to receive the 16-inch MacBook Pro shipments this quarter do not mean that the product will be available for sale this quarter, Cupertino may just be storing some inventory and preparing for the upcoming 15 percent increase in tariffs.

According to industry sources and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to usher in return of a more reliable Scissors keyboard, along with an all-new design and carries Intel's latest Coffee Lake Refresh or Ice Lake processor.
