Apple Rolls Out iOS 13.3, macOS Catalina 10.15.2, watchOS 6.1.1, And tvOS 13.3

Apple today publicly iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3, the third major update to the iOS 13 operating system. The update is now available for download and installs by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 13.3's biggest highlight is that the Screen Time feature now has communication restrictions that limit the time children spend on their phone for texting and FaceTime purposes, it also introduces the option to never display the emoji button on the keyboard in keyboard settings, and the Apple Watch app's Digital Crown is grayed out instead of all black.

The update also introduce new layouts for certain publications in Apple News+, a new interface for liking or disliking stories in News, and made improvements on the news options and coverage in the Stocks app, including the links to related stories or more stories from the same publication at the end of an article, “Breaking” and “Developing” labels for Top Stories, and stories from ‌Apple News‌ are now available in Canada in English and French.

Additionally, Apple has implemented a new Safari feature that supports NFC, USB, and Lightning FIDO2-compliant security keys, meaning users will be able to use physical security keys such as the Lightning-equipped YubiKey for more reliable two-factor authentication. For those unfamiliar with what YubiKey is, it's a legitimate and useful tool developed by Yubico, where you simply plug it into a phone, say an iPhone, to complete the two-factor authentication.

Here are the list of bugs Apple fixed in iOS 13.3:
- Fixes issues in Mail that may prevent downloading new messages
- Addresses an issue that prevented deleting messages in Gmail accounts
- Resolves issues that could cause incorrect characters to display in messages and duplication of sent messages in Exchange accounts
- Fixes an issue where the cursor may not move after long pressing on the space bar
- Addresses an issue that may cause screenshots to appear blurry when sent via Messages
- Resolves an issue where cropping or using Markup on screenshots may not save to ‌Photos‌
- Fixes an issue where Voice Memos recordings may not be able to be shared with other audio apps
- Addresses an issue where the missed call badge on the Phone app may not clear
- Resolves an issue where the Cellular Data setting may incorrectly show as off
- Fixes an issue that prevented turning off Dark Mode when Smart Invert was enabled
- Addresses an issue where some wireless chargers may charge more slowly than expected
Aside from iOS 13.3 and iPadOS 13.3, Apple also rolled out macOS Catalina 10.15.2, watchOS 6.1.1, tvOS 13.3—and an update for HomePods. All updates should be available to all users by the end of the day.

macOS Catalina 10.15.2, like iOS 13.3, includes a new layout for ‌Apple News‌+ stories from The Wall Street Journal and other leading newspapers, as well as the same iOS 13.3 improvements of the Stocks app. The update has also restored the column browser view in Apple Music and added Apple Remote app support for Music and TV apps on Mac.

When it comes to tvOS 13.3, which is rather a notable update, bring back the feature, "Up Next", perhaps already rings a bell to many folks who previously experienced tvOS 12, indeed, after being replaced by "What to Watch." It's officially brought back to tvOS with the latest 13.3 version, although you will need to manually change it from "What to Watch" to "Up Next."

Today's HomePod update improves speech recognition for family members and "allows individual family members to enable/disable personal requests."

Lastly, Apple also released a watchOS 5 and an iOS 12.4.4 security update for users who do not have a device running on the latest iOS 13 and watchOS 6.
