Kuo: Upcoming 6.7-Inch iPhone To Gain Sensor Shift Image Stabilization

Today, reputable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released the latest research report that the high-end 6.7-inch iPhone 12 model will feature multiple rear camera improvements, including larger sensors, the so-called Sensor Shift image stabilization capabilities, and more.

The Sensor-shift image-stabilization system is an automated in-camera solution developed to reduce or eliminate the effects of camera shake when using longish exposures, which is why Apple has decided to adopt the camera tech to the Ultra Wide lens on the upcoming 6.7-inch iPhone.

In his report, Kuo again said that this year's iPhone 12 series will include a total of 4 models in 3 sizes, including 5.4-inch OLED iPhone (rear dual-camera), 6.1-inch OLED iPhone (rear dual-camera), 6.1 Inch OLED iPhone (rear triple-cameras + ToF) and 6.7 inch OLED iPhone (rear triple-cameras + ToF).

He also emphasized that the wide-angle lenses of all new iPhone 12 models will be upgraded from 6P to 7P, including 5.4-inch OLED iPhone, 6.1-inch OLED iPhone, and the 6.7-inch OLED iPhone (rear triple camera + ToF) wide-angle camera supports Sensor shift and uses 7P lens.

In addition, he predicts that Apple's 2021 iPhones' telephoto lens will also be upgraded from 6P to 7P, supporting Sensor shift, and that 2022 iPhones will feature a periscope lens.

Lastly, the analyst said that the yield rate of the 7P lens for the iPhone 12 trial production this month has reached 70-85%, and the lens yield is expected to further improve in the future
