Apple Reveals WWDC 2020 Schedule, To Kick Off With A Keynote June 22

Apple has revealed the schedule for its WWDC 2020 event, which is set to take place in an online-only format for the first time. Apple says that this year's event will be the "biggest WWDC to date, and will bring exciting activities such as the Keynote, Platforms State of the Union, more than 100 engineering-related sessions, Apple Developer Forum, and a one-to-one laboratory with more than 1,000 Apple engineers.


The keynote will be broadcast live from Apple Park through apple.com, Apple Developer app, Apple Developer website, Apple TV app, and YouTube. On-demand playback will also be provided after the live broadcast. For audiences in mainland China, the keynote will also be broadcast on Tencent Video, iQiyi, Youku, and Bilibili.

In addition to the keynote, there is also the Platforms State of the Union, which is designed to let Apple's engineering executives explain the latest progress of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and watchOS. The presentation will take place on June 22 at 2:00 p.m., available on the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website.

Starting June 23, developers will be able to participate in more than 100 technical and design seminars hosted by Apple engineers to learn how to build a new generation of apps. Session videos will be released every day at 10 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time, and will be available on the Apple Developer app and the Apple Developer website.

While the new Apple Developer Forum will allow the developer community to connect more than 1,000 Apple engineers to answer questions and participate in technical discussions. From the first day of WWDC, anyone can search and browse the discussion forums, and keep up with the content of interest. Apple Developer Program members can also post their own questions and learn directly from Apple experts.

Lastly, developers can set up appointments with Apple engineers, so that engineers involved in building the latest advanced technologies on Apple’s platforms can provide them with one-to-one technical guidance and in-depth explanations of the details of implementing new features. The one-to-one lab will be open to members of the Apple Developer Program if there is a quota.

This will be Apple's 31st time to hold the Worldwide Developer Conference. Apple encourages developers to download the Apple Developer app, with more details will also be published through the Apple Developer website and email.
