After several years of review, Apple recently reached an out-of-court settlement with the plaintiff. Apple will pay $9.75 million for this, and the payment will be shared by all class members who submit the claim form. Though Apple also said that the reason for the settlement was to avoid higher litigation costs while denying all allegations.

The lawyers in this case have started to notify the owner of this Powerbeats 2 via email. Hence, affected users must submit a claim to them before November 20, 2020. Later, Apple or the law firm will subtract attorney fees and administrative fees from the $9.75 million, and then distribute them based on the actual number of applicants.
It's estimated that in this case, those who can provide proof of purchase or repair will receive $76, while those who cannot provide proof of purchase or repair will only receive $38.
The price of PowerBeats 2 at the time when it was first introduced was $200.
