Apple Announces New iPhone SE With 5G Support And A15 Bionic Chip

Apple today announced the third generation of iPhone SE, which features an A15 Bionic chip, support for 5G support, longer battery, and available in three colors: Midnight, Starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED.

“iPhone SE has been an incredibly popular choice with our existing users and for new iPhone customers, thanks to its iconic design, exceptional performance, and affordable price. This year we’ve built the most powerful and durable iPhone SE yet, with better battery life thanks to A15 Bionic, the same chip as our iPhone 13 lineup that also unlocks advanced camera features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing. “And with 5G, iPhone SE gives users faster downloads and uploads, higher quality video streaming, real-time interactivity in apps, and much more. Delivering the latest generation of technology and performance at this price is something only Apple can do.”
The new iPhone SE uses a similar design as its previous models, except now with the toughest glass in a smartphone on the front and back — the same as on the back of iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13.

What differentiates it from its predecessor is the fact that the A15 Bionic chip — introduced with iPhone 13 — comes to iPhone SE. A15 is equipped with a powerful 6-core CPU, which is the fastest CPU in the smartphone field, consisting of 2 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores, making the iPhone SE up to 1.8x faster than the iPhone 8, and even faster compared to the older model.

Despite its compact design and the addition of advanced technologies such as 5G, the new iPhone SE has more superior battery life than previous and previous 4.7-inch iPhone models. iPhone SE supports wireless charging with Qi-certified chargers, as well as fast charging.

Featuring an all-new camera system powered by the A15 Bionic chip, iPhone SE now comes with a 12-megapixel ƒ/1.8 aperture wide-angle camera, so users would be able to make full use of powerful computational photography capabilities such as Smart HDR 4, Photographic Style, Deep Fusion, Portrait Mode.

iPhone SE will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models in midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED starting at $429 (US). You can pre-order iPhone SE beginning at 5 a.m. PST on Friday, March 11, with availability beginning Friday, March 18.
