Apple analyst Ming-Chi is out with the latest research report on AirPods, which has given hope to users who awaits the second-generation AirPods wireless headphone. Kuo says that AirPods is the fastest growing Apple products, and expects the growth in shipments in 2018 and 2019 will be about 80% and 90%, respectively, while the annual shipments are expected to reach 100 million units by 2021.

Kuo believes that Apple will launch an upgraded version that supports wireless charging in the first quarter of next year, and even predicts that it will see a big change at the same time in the following year: he claims that the new design version will drive the replacement needs, and to be highly integrated with iOS and Mac products for more innovative user experience.

The analyst estimated that shipments will grow strongly in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, from 26 to 28 million, 50 to 55 million, 70 to 80 million and 1 million to 110 million. respectively. All in all, AirPods is arguably the most popular accessory in Apple's history and the product that has the strongest growth momentum in Apple products thanks to the large iPhone user base.

"More than 1 billion iPhone users worldwide offer a huge potential growth opportunity for AirPods. We believe that even older iPhone users are more likely to purchase AirPods than to upgrade to the new iPhone. At least 5% of iPhone users currently owns AirPods, so AirPods still has plenty of room to grow," says Ming-Chi Kuo, the often reliable Apple analyst.

Despite that many media outlets and supply chain sources claimed that low sales on iPhones and mass production changes, Greg Joswiak, Apple's product marketing chief, sat down for an interview with CNET today to discuss consumer responses to the iPhone XR, where he said that the iPhone XR has been the best-selling iPhone every day since it got released on October 26.

Joswiak pointed out that since that release, iPhone XR is Apple's best-selling iPhone every day that the iPhone XR has: "been our most popular iPhone each and every day since the day it became available", says the Vice President of Product Marketing at Apple, but didn't reveal how much how units they have sold, as the company announced at its last earnings call that it would stop reporting iPhone unit sales.

However, multiple reports suggested that Apple reduced orders for iPhone XR due low-than-expected demand and plus Apple informed supply chain to restart iPhone X production. And, just this Monday, the iPhone XR saw a $100 price cut in Japan over carriers' two-year contract deal,  it's not clear who is telling the truth, but the news will definitely help Apple stock to back on the right track.

In addition, the VP also talked about the ongoing RED partnership, and that they will again promote the World's AIDs Day on December 1st. With every $1 for each purchase made in Apple Pay via Apple Stores, Apple Store app, or will donate to the organizations, at the same time, all 125 Apple retail stores logo will turn into red.

Apple introduced Apple Watch Series 4 with ECG function in September, however, users can't use the functionality since the app wasn't enabled. And now, according to an internal Apple Store training document obtained by MacRumors, Apple will enable it in the next watchOS release, which is the watchOS 5.1.2 that we bet will be released within next week.

Because of the government regulations, the ECG app is currently only available to the users in the United States, since it got the FDA clearance, yet, we do expect Apple Watch Series 4 models sold worldwide include the electrical heart sensor will get the feature rather sooner than later. In the meantime, change your Region Settings to the US if you can't wait to give it a shot. Here is how it works:
An ECG measures electrical activity of the heart over a period of time, detecting tiny electrical changes on the skin created by the heart’s electrophysiologic pattern of depolarizing and repolarizing during each heartbeat. An ECG can help detect a variety of cardiac problems.
Once the app is activated, it will generating an ECG similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram after a user place a finger on the Digital Crown while wearing the watch for 30 seconds. Nevertheless, Apple reminds consumers that it's not intended to be a diagnostic device or to replace traditional methods of diagnosis, and should ask your doctor first then to monitor or track diseases.

Following the release of iOS 12.1 last month, Apple has just stopped signing iOS 12.0.1, which means you can’t downgrade to the version anymore. Apple usually stops signing old versions after the release of a new update. However, perhaps in response to the JailbreakMe Unified that allows users to jailbreak their devices on iOS 4 to the iOS 12.0.1 version.

Apple oftently stopped signing certain iOS version as a way of ensuring that users can experience the most recent version of iOS and thus have the latest security fixes as well as performance improvements. Meanwhile, the company is in beta testing iOS 12.1.1 with FaceTime app UI tweak and reintroduced Live Photo feature, as well as expanded the use of iPhone XR's Haptic Touch on Notification Center.

Regarding jailbreak, as we have reported, an iOS hacker called SemVoigtländer is developing a mobile browser-based jailbreak tool that allows users to jailbreak iOS 12.0.1. Since it's in a JailbreakMe style, SemVoigtländer calls the tool as JailbreakMeUnified, if you interested in this tool, check the process by visiting JailbreakMeUnified official GitHub page.

After a few months of wait, the drone video producer Duncan Sinfield shared the Apple Park aerial footage again, this time is the Thanksgiving special. Compared with the midsummer season, the appearance of the Apple Park in the late fall has a different flavor and a more layered color, perhaps because it's the season that leaves fall from the tree, and begins to turn into red or yellow.

Speaking to Apple Park, the Steve Jobs Theater inside of the big campus just got the 'Structural Art Engineering Award' for advance in structural glass technology. The Theater is located on one of the highest points in Apple Park, overlooking the landscaping and main spaceship building. It gives us a impression that there is only the glass between the floor and ceiling.

One of the biggest highlights in the Apple Park is the Landscaping, the entire campus is fulfilled with grassland and more than 9,000 local drought-resistant trees, make it truly a place to show that Apple is strongly-focused on environment. Yes, it's also powered by 100% renewable energy, with 17 megawatts of rooftop solar energy, the $5 billion campus runs one of the world's largest on-site solar installations.

So far, the headquarter hosted two Apple events, the first media event was in September 2017, where Apple unveiled products such as iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple TV 4K. This year's September event was also held here, where the company launched new products such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, US President Trump said he might consider signing a 10% tariff on iPhones and Apple products imported from China. Trump is all set to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week and that if the negotiations are going well, he will be prepared to introduce additional tariffs on goods that are currently not taxed.

The report points out that the US government has been worried about the reaction of consumers if these goods need to be taxed, but Trump believes that if they charge 10% tariff on mobile phones and laptops, people will still accept that: "I mean, I can make it 10%, and people could stand that very easily."
He said the tariffs could also be placed on iPhones and laptops imported from China. The administration has been worried about a consumer reaction should such items be subject to levies.

"Maybe. Maybe. Depends on what the rate is," the president said, referring to mobile phones and laptops. "I mean, I can make it 10%, and people could stand that very easily."
Apple had previously sent a letter to the US government urging it not to impose tariffs affecting Apple products, hoping that the government would look for other more effective ways to handle the problem. Currently, Apple devices are all exempt from tariffs, we may see a price hike if Trump plans to implement tariffs. And because of that, Apple's stock has dropped 2.03% in after hours trading.

During today's stock trading, software giant Microsoft was surpassed Apple to become the world's most valuable publicly traded company as a result of Apple's continually declining share price aims reports of lower-than-expected iPhone sales. However, as of now, Apple has returned that title with its market cap of approximately $828 billion, while Microsoft is now slightly less.

The last time that Microsoft matches Apple's stock value was in the mid-2010's, it's understood that the company's advance in cloud business and well-received PC sales all pushed them to grow in value ever since the September quarter, however, analysts expected that they will reach the $1 trillion market cap milestone in 2020, if not in the next year.

For now, Microsoft and Apple are competing for the most valuable company title, Amazon is on the track to race to hit $800 billion valuation crown. Yet, Google did see little increase in stock price, as it now placed at #4 spot when it comes to the most valuable brand in the world, from what it seems like, Apple is likely to be on the top of rank when the market closes today.

Last week, a WSJ report says that Apple will lower the price of the iPhone XR in Japan, since the $750 handset sees a disappointing sales in the country due to carrier contracts. And now, customers in Japan can expect about $100 off over the life of their plan, as we expect other carriers to follow suit in the coming days.

Apple’s strategy to reduce the iPhone XR price in Japan is mainly relies on device subsidies to attract customers,. After all, iPhone XR sales are not as stable as iPhone 8 Plus. Perhaps because of its price, iPhone XR may mirror what happened with the iPhone 5c in 2013. Noted that iPhone dominates the smartphone market in Japan, that being said, hopefully the demand will pick up after the discount.

Due to lower-than-expected demand for XR in the country, Apple is believed to tell carriers to discount XR models more significantly. Japanese customers seem to have not switches to Android, but rather purchased iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. However, don't expect the price of the iPhone XR to drop everywhere. Apple will be considered if it necessary to increase sales by lower iPhone costs.

Lower-than-expected iPhone XS and XS Max sales also leads Apple to restart iPhone X production (which discounted in September) and sell it in certain markets. The problem is we don't know when will it available to consumers, and it's unclear how much they will price the smartphone at. (Via 9to5Mac)

Longhorn (@never _released), a security researcher, said on Twitter that Apple has begun research on the A13, upgraded version of the A12 processor. The code name will be "Lightning" and the internal chip name is "T8030". Although the accuracy of this news is still unclear, we do know that the upcoming A13 Lightning chip will be designed for the 2019 iPhone models.

Previously, the Supply chain believes that TSMC will continue to OEM the A13 processor exclusively. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who has repeatedly leaked Apple's new products, also revealed that the A13 and A14 chips will be manufactured by the chipmaker, which will be used on 2019 and 2020 iPhones.

Better, the A13 processor may even have a customized version, which perhaps just developed for Apple's MacBook. With A12X massive performance, Apple has proved to the outside world that they have The ability to make ARM high-performance processors for laptops, and already capable of using the 7nm process, while Intel continue produce chips in 10nm process.

How to improve the A13 processor is also a worry for Apple. It is necessary to know that the second-generation 7nm process mainly uses the EUV process, which is helpful for improving the difficulty of chip manufacturing. However, in terms of performance, the EUV process doesn't bring any improvement, so I would expect Apple to change the architecture: make it more power efficiency and speedy.

Apple wants to you think that iPad Pro can replace PC. However, although they updated the iPad Pro with powerful hardware, limited by the software, it is still a tablet. Yes, there are still many factors that prevent iPad Pro from completely replacing Mac or other PCs. So we listed several features that could potentially be introduced on iOS 13 and modifies the iPad as a laptop replacement:

1. For many pro users, add some Mac-like features to the iPad Pro will definitely be welcomed, especially when dealing with external devices, they don't need to turn the iPad Pro into a Mac, just have the abilities such as when the iPad Pro is connected to an external monitor, to use a mouse/trackpad, so the cursor can appear on the screen, for easier navigation.

2. One of the biggest obstacles for iPad Pro to replace PC is the fact that you can't read or edit a document on iPad Pro right after plugging in an external storage device. Apple needs to kill the restrictions and allow the File app to read and open a wide variety of files in external storage. Until then, the iPad Pro could not completely replace your computer whatsoever.

3. You might think that the iOS professional app era is coming soon after Adobe announces that it will launch the full Photoshop app on the iPad. Well, Apple has to provide users with more professional applications; despite the iPad Pro has a Pro title, if they did release the iPad Pro version of Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X, then they can truly market it as a PC alternative.

4. Obviously, tablets are more likely to be shared between family or colleagues than phones. The current iOS version includes a single-user account. If Apple can introduce multi-user support for iPad Pro in iOS 13, different accounts can install different apps and setup unique home screen layouts, which will provide a more convenient sharing experience for users.

5. Many users now browse the web on their smartphones, and many websites have their mobile versions, but browsing the web on iPad Pro is kinda waste for such a large screen: it should at least to display the desktop version of most web pages. In addition, Apple should also add more native support to browser-based tools, like View Page Sources and desktop-like Scrolling feature.

In recent years, Apple has been committed to adding health-related features to its products, but most monitoring functions can only be used when users are active, Apple provides little to no monitoring when the user is asleep. However, it appears that Apple has found a great solution. (Via AppleInsider)

Apple acquired the sleep tracking platform Beddit in May 2017. Beddit provides detailed information about sleep quality, such as heart rate, breathing, etc., by allowing users to place a small tracker under their sheets and then using the accompanying iOS and Apple Watch apps.

The company's latest patent application, called "multi-element piezo sensor for in-bed physiological measurements" intends to further track the movements of the user during the sleep cycle, the core of which is to determine the point of contact between the person and the bed by using a piezoelectric film on the surface of the bed.

The new patent proposes two solutions, one is to use a long piece of film similar to the Beddit sensor on the bed, which corresponds to the user's chest position. The second uses even more sensors to cover the entire surface of the bed. This solution can monitor can gather more user information, such as the user's sleeping position, yet, it's unclear if Apple really intends to use a piezo film in a particular product.

According to the latest data released by Google Trends, the peak of global users searching for "iPhone" the keyword through Google appeared in September 2012, before and following the release of iPhone 5. Based on this data, they pointed out that users' interest in the iPhone has dropped. But does it really means that consumers are less purchasing iPhones? Well, here are our thoughts on that matter.

Google Trends reports that this year's Google search peak on the "iPhone" keywords is only half of that 2012 peak, this year's iPhone search peak appeared during the Apple September event. Google Trends’ data is just a reference for analyzing users’ interest in the iPhone. It doesn't take into account other ways that users to gather information about new products, such as social media and uses other search engines, considering its privacy issues.

Also, It does not tell the user why someone is searching for a product, and other buyers would rather search for "iPhone XS" or "iPhone XR" instead of directly "iPhone." Perhaps most importantly, Google Trends does not match the number of users who brought iPhones. Apple has sold 125 million iPhones in 2012, and this year, even though users are “not so interested” with the iPhone, Apple has sold nearly 217 million iPhones.

To honor its legendary co-founder and former CEO, Apple's new headquarter - Apple Park's theater is named after Steve Jobs, and the 1,000-seat auditorium entrance is a 20-foot, 165-foot glass cylinder that supports a metal-carbon fiber roof. The Steve Jobs Theatre is located on one of the highest points in Apple Park, overlooking the landscaping and main spaceship building.

The Apple Park replaces 5 million square feet of asphalt and concrete with grassland and more than 9,000 local drought-resistant trees and is powered by 100% renewable energy. With 17 megawatts of rooftop solar energy, the $5 billion campus runs one of the world's largest on-site solar installations. It is also one of the largest naturally ventilated buildings in the world and is expected to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year.

Now, the Steve Jobs Theatre earned the Structural Art Engineering Award from the Institute of Structural Engineers. According to the Institute, the award is "for projects in which what could otherwise have been an adequate and worthy solution has been transformed by the vision and skill of the structural engineer into something exceptional." Judges said that like the way they make the wires and pipes invisible, given them an impression of there is only the glass between the floor and ceiling.

The first media event at the Steve Jobs Theatre was in September 2017, when Apple unveiled products such as iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple TV 4K. This year's September event was also held here, where we welcomed new products such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4.

Black Friday is beginning very soon, and a few days ago Apple announced that it will host a "4-day shopping event." Now, the Australian region is already Friday, and the sales already went online. Many consumers will receive free Apple Store gift cards worth up to $200 when purchase select new Apple products.

However, it should be noted that there's no gift card for the latest devices. To get a gift card, you can only buy old devices. To iPhone, only iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are available for the offer. For iPad, only the 9.7-inch iPad, 10.5-inch iPad and iPad mini 4 can obtain it.  Yet, on the Mac side, the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar can score a gift card; the old MacBook Air is qualified for a gift card as well.

Apple TV: $25 gift card
HomePod: $50 Gift Card
Beats Headphones: $50 Gift Card
Apple Watch Series 3:50 USD Gift Card
iPhone: $50 gift card
iPad: $100 gift card
Mac: $200 gift card

Besides Apple, third-party retailers also giveaway discounts, for instance, Micro Center will be offering $99 to $149 off the new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models starting on Black Friday, Macy's, however, is discount the Apple Watch Series 3 for $80 off, Walmart has probably one of the best Apple product deals, they will be gifting a $300 - $400 gift card when purchasing iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XS, as well as the iPhone XS Max and XR.

According to sources from the Wall Street Journal, Apple will lower the price of the iPhone XR in Japan, with the price reduction strategy will start as soon as next week, since the $750 iPhone sees a disappointing sales in the country due to carrier contracts. In addition, the iPhone 8 is still very popular in Japan. Currently, it is unclear how much the iPhone XR price will be lowered.

Apple’s strategy to reduce the iPhone XR price in Japan is mainly to better promote this new handset. After all, iPhone XR sales are not as stable as iPhone 8 Plus. Perhaps because of its price, iPhone XR may mirror what happened with the iPhone 5c in 2013, then the demand picked up the following year, analysts predicted.
Analysts say weaker-than-expected demand for iPhone XR may mirror what happened with the iPhone 5c in 2013, where sales picked up the following year. Apple's higher-priced XS and XS Max models, released a month earlier, appeal more to tech's early adopters who typically fuel initial sales of new iPhones.
At the same time, Apple plans to restart iPhone X production (which discounted in September) and sell it in certain markets. For Apple, lowering the price of a product is a very rare case. In some markets, If the sales of the device fall short of expectations, Apple will choose a price reduction strategy. One again produce the iPhone X allows Apple to consume exceedingly OLED screen components, it's unclear which specific countries or regions' consumers will be available to purchase this.

The Information is out with a report that in order to promote the upcoming original content service, Apple may preparing to launch a TV dongle product, similar to the Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Information claims Apple had an internal discussion about a low-cost streaming TV stick product that can be plugged into the back of the user's TV. Of course, the report did not entirely confirm that the final product will really be available to users, because Apple may be considering a number of different projects.

If Apple finally chooses to launch such a product, it will bring serious moves to its set-top box business, because the current Apple TV products ain’t cheap, for example, Apple released a $149 tvOS-based Apple TV in 2015, two years later, the company debuted Apple TV 4K for $179 for just added the 4K experience.

The US smart TV market is just the opposite, and prices are usually at the low end of double digits. But it’s worth to note that Apple will offer a free original content streaming service, so that will please users to purchase the device since the upcoming streaming service would be launched as soon as next year.
