Apple Added New "Families" Page On Its Website With Parental Control Tips

Apple today has launched a new “Families” page on its website in response to investors that pressure the company to do more on technology addiction and to give parents more control over how their kids use Apple products, outlining what parents can do to protect their kids’ use of technology.


The site is broken into several sections that highlight a range of kid-friendly features that Apple has put into place like app recommendations, in-app purchase controls, restrictions on apps, Safari's website filter, Find My Friends, and more. Here is how Apple explains on its newly launched website:

iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. They’re some of the most powerful tools ever made for learning, exploring, and staying in touch. Parents love them. Kids love them. And we’re continually designing new features to help make sure kids use them in the ways you want.

Apple explains that Apple Watch with LTE connectivity to "reach kids in an emergency" and to help the whole family stay fit, and there is a dedicated section on privacy controls. Of course, The new webpage doesn’t offer any informations about what new parental control features Apple might have planned for this year.

But Apple did promised before to introduce more robust parental control tools, and is said to be planning to debut a Digital Health tool in which will let parents know how much time their children have spent using iOS devices.
