According to Japanese website MacOtakara, news from the supply chain said that Apple's upcoming 2019 iPad will still retain the 3.5mm headphone jack and continue to use the touch ID as a biometric unlock method.

Continue to retain the headphone jack and Touch ID means that the new iPad will not feature the full-screen design like the high-end iPad Pro, so the design is almost the same as the previous generation.

It has been previously reported that due to the fact of the less bezels, the screen of the new 9.7-inch iPad may be expanded to 10 inches. However, today's report said that there is a contradiction in the source of information, and is said to remain unchanged at 9.7 inches.

The report did not give Apple's specific release time, only mentioning that the supplier is "preparing" for the launch of the device. Furthermore, the report also mentioned that Apple may release the new iPad and iPad mini 5 at the same time.
