IHS: Apple To Release MacBook Air And MacBook Pro (Non-Touch Bar) In September

According to IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin's latest prediction, Apple plans to update the MacBook Air, 13-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (non-touch bar) laptop line in September this year, with a new generation of processors. The new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models will hit with the recently announced macOS Catalina,

Furthermore, Analyst Lin thinks the 16-inch MacBook Pro will adopt a 3072x 1920 resolution LCD panel from LG Display. The existing 15-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, has 2880x 1880 resolution. Not long ago, the Elec website said Samsung was negotiating with Apple and could supply the 16-inch MacBook Pro with OLED panels. IHS argues that the 16-inch MacBook Pro is not expected to use OLEDs in today's report, it will still be LCD.

As early as February of this year, Tianfeng International Analyst predicted that Apple will release the 16-inch MacBook Pro this year, but the specific release time has not been determined. IHS also mentioned that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will be featured with a new processor, but the details are still unclear.

IHS collaborated closely with Apple's supply chain and effectively predicted the resolution of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and Apple Watch's LTPO screen four months ahead of schedule. In September, Apple never introduced a new Mac, as the iPhone event took place in this month. The new Mac will typically be released in October, so it will be fascinating to witness the fall event.
