Report Confirmed iPhone 11 And iPhone 11 Pro Uses Intel's LTE Modems

Reports from PCMag confirmed that this year's iPhone 11/11 Pro uses Intel LTE modems, the report explains that iPhones using Intel modems and Qualcomm modem will have different menu items in the field test mode.

While the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max is all Intel's layout, and the chip model may be the XMM 7660, this is doomed to be the last 4G chip from Intel as the chipmaker shut down its smartphone modem business in late July and sold it to Apple.

In the past few years, Apple has split the iPhone modem order between Intel and Qualcomm. Since last year, Cupertino only used Intel modems, due to its legal battle with Qualcomm. Though Apple and Qualcomm settled earlier this year, it was too late, so Qualcomm's LTE modems did not appear on the iPhone 11 series.

Despite Apple purchased its smartphone modem unit, Intel has confirmed that it will continue to supply 4G modems, suggesting that its roadmap includes the iPhone 11.

PCMag went on to say that the iPhone 11 Pro series with 4×4 MIMO antenna technology is expected to be about 20% faster than last year's model. The iPhone 11 that supports 2×2 MIMO antennas is slightly inferior. Early tests have revealed that the iPhone 11 Pro 4G is 13% faster than the iPhone XS, but there is no news on speed comparison.
