DigiTimes Shares New Updates On 'AirPods Pro Lite', iPhone SE 2, And More

DigiTimes reports today that Apple's supplier will begin producing a new “entry-level” version of the AirPods Pro between the end of the first quarter and the start of the second quarter, which could mean that the assembly of the earbuds will be in early to mid-April Start.

DigiTimes calls the wireless earbuds "AirPods Pro Lite", but Apple seems unlikely to use that name, after all, Pro and Lite are sounds rather confusing. However, there is a large chance it to be the third-generation standard AirPods, with the same design and sound quality as the AirPods Pro, but without active noise canceling.

Also from DigiTimes is that the iPhone SE 2 has entered the final stage of product verification, but Apple may choose to release this new machine in the second quarter due to delayed component shipments. But this far, all rumors about the debut time of Apple's iPhone SE 2 has been directed to this month. Rumors have it that Apple may release iPhone SE 2 on March 31

Affected by the new coronavirus epidemic, Apple has put on hold the PCB order of the device, the release time is likely delayed from the first quarter to the second quarter, which would indicate that the release of Apple iPhone SE 2 may be postponed.

Lastly, DigiTimes shared the latest update on the forthcoming MacBook and iPad Pro lineups. Citing industry sources, the Taiwanese publication said that Apple plans to launch a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini-LED screen and multiple MacBook laptops by the end of 2020.

DigiTimes claims that Apple will also use Mini-LED backlights for "certain LCD displays," but it's unclear whether this refers to the iMac/iMac Pro or a standalone display. Apple's high-end Pro Display XDR, for example, uses 576 LEDs, but it's not in Mini-LED. In contrast, the first iPads and MacBooks featured with Mini-LED backlights are expected to have more than 10,000 LEDs.
