Apple Confirms Some iPhone 12 Models Would Exhibit Display Issues

An internal document obtained by MacRumors indicates that Apple has confirmed that some iPhone 12 displays exhibit flickering, green, gray lighting, or other unexpected color shifts under certain conditions.

In a document shared with Apple's authorized service provider this week, Apple said that it has known user reports related to this issue and is investigating. Apple has advised technicians to avoid providing services to affected iPhones at least for now, and instead, inform customers that they should keep their iPhones updated with the latest iOS version. The document infers that Apple may be confident that this issue will be fixed in future software updates.

Soon after the iPhone 12 model was launched, several users complained about this issue, which affects iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

According to user reports, the issue seems to occur when the display brightness is set to around 90% or lower. Many users have encountered this issue on iOS 14.1, iOS 14.2, and even the first two iOS 14.3 betas. The flickering or glowing is not always permanent. For some users, it will disappear after a short time.
