Apple Officially Released iOS 11 To Public Users, Here Is What's New

Apple today officially released iOS 11 to public user, the newest operating system designed for the iDevices only. The iOS 11 is available on the iPhone 5s and later, the iPad mini 2 and later, the iPad Air and later, and the 6th-generation iPod touch. To download the update, open the Settings app - General - Software Update.

iOS 11 is enormous update that brings a refreshed look and feel to both the iPhone and the iPad. It introduces subtle design changes to interface elements throughout the OS, like bolder text, new look revamped app icons, and a redesigned usage experience for the Lock screen, and the fully customizable Control Center.


Apple has merged the Lock screen and the Notification Center, so a downwards swipe now brings up the Lock screen and notifications. The Control Center is now customizable and does more, and 3D Touch integration has been expanded, it also added many new optional controls that have never been available before including an Apple TV remote, a text size button, Screen Recording and more.

Apple has spruced up the home screen design this time around with new iconography for several flagship Apple apps. The Maps icon features the company’s new campus picture. iTunes Store and App Store have completely new branding, whilst the Reminders, Camera, Contacts, and Notes icon have seen simplifying refinements.


Apple has rethought every screen of App Store in iOS 11 to improve discovery and cleanly distinguish between apps and games categories and charts. The new Today screen will update regularly with rich editorial content from App Store writers featuring hit apps, how-to guides, interviews with developers and more.

Siri is smarter than ever and has a new, more natural voice, and Siri is now cross-device, letting the personal assistant learn more about you. Siri can also translate English into several different languages like Spanish and Chinese.


The Camera app updated with swipe up from the bottom of the viewfinder to reveal the new filter wheel. Apple has updated the Portrait mode to create more realistic depth effect imagery. Moreover, Portrait mode now supports optical image stabilization, HDR and True Tone flash functionality, while the app also supports QR reader.

The Photos app now able to sync faces in the People album across devices using iCloud Photo Library, allowing users to organize their family face albums once but view the same information across all your Apple devices. Apple is offers new editing tools for Live Photos, including new effects like Loop, Bounce and Long Exposure, You can also mute the audio on a Live Photo and select a new key frame.


Other changes include P2P Apple Pay payments in iMessage, while Do Not Disturb While Driving help drivers stay focused on the road, Maps features indoor mapping, and Notes has a new Document Scanner. Whilst ARKit bring a range of AR apps to the iDevices. iOS 11 also the biggest update ever for the iPad, bring a new Dock, whole new Files app with third-party support, a revamped App Switcher, and a system-wide drag and drop feature.
