Apple Releases Second Public Beta Of iOS 11.2 With Apple Pay Cash Feature

Apple today releases the second public beta of the iOS 11.2 update to developers, one week after releasing the first public beta of iOS 11.2. Public Beta testers need sign up Apple's beta testing program to download the beta profile, in order to update your device to iOS 11.2, navigate to Settings - Software Update.

Apple is allowing public beta testers to test Apple Pay Cash starting with today's iOS 11.2 beta. iOS 11.2 beta 2 also fixes an autocorrect bug plaguing many people. The beta fixes an animation bug in the Calculator app that caused some numbers and symbols to be ignored when entered in rapid succession. Finally, Continuous playback for Podcasts app is back in iOS 11.2


Some of other small tweaks also found in the beta, like redesigned camera emoji, and a new loading animation for Live Photos effects, and it's appears to introduce the TV app for Sweden and Norway. Accessibility settings preference panel has been rearranged. Although Apple Pay Cash was introduced in this beta, but there's still no sign for iCloud Messages.

Apple Pay Cash works through the iMessage app and is designed to allow for quick person-to-person money transfers, much like Square Cash or Venmo. Apple Pay Cash for sending money works with existing Apple Pay credit cards and debit cards. Debit card transfers are free while credit cards have a small fee. You will need to use two-factor authentication with the Apple ID used with Apple Pay Cash.


In addition to iOS 11.2 public beta, Apple also seed the second tvOS 11.2 beta, The tvOS 11.2 now restores the Unwatched category in the Home Sharing feature for Movies, TV Shows and Home Video. It also enables automatic frame rate and dynamic range switching on Apple TV 4K (Via iDB).
