Google Releases First Preview Of The Upcoming Android P Update, Supports The iPhone X-Style Notches

Google on Wednesday released the first preview of the Android P, give the developers the opportunity to see what’s new in the search giant’s next mobile version. This new update including a feature that following in Apple's footsteps, which is supports for iPhone X-style notches built into Android devices.

According to the Android Developers website, it explains that Android P offers support for the latest edge-to-edge screens with display cutout for camera and speaker. The so-called layoutInDisplayCutoutMode will allows app to lay out its content around a device's cutouts. You can customize the size and shape of a notch on an Android device.

Android P offers Several enhancements to notifications, and now you can add an action to reply to messages or enter other text directly from a notification and shows images within the interface. The upcoming Android update to bring indoor positioning with Wi-Fi RTT for better indoor positioning in your apps.

Other changes coming to some Android users including a multi-camera support, HEIF image support, autofill framework, overall speed and security improvements, restricted access to the mic, camera, and other hardwares. Android P is now available in preview form, only a few limited devices that can test it out.
