iPhone X Plus To Be Roughly The Same Size As The 8 Plus, iOS 12 Will Support Horizontal Face ID Unlock

A new fresh report came from Japanese blog MacOtakara claims that the upcoming 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus roughly "the same size" as the iPhone 8 Plus, and the 6.5-inch device could be 0.2mm thicker than the iPhone 8 Plus due to the vertical dual-lens camera design, which will measure in at 7.7mm.

The report also states that the next-generation 5.8-inch OLED device will use the same body as current iPhone X, but it will be came with a larger rear camera lens attributable to a bigger camera sensor. 


Moreover, the blog believed that the lower-cost iPhone with an LCD display and a bit smaller at six inches instead of 6.1-inch screen. It will feature Face ID as well, but rather have a single rear camera lens like the iPhone 8, which in line with former KGI analyst Kuo's prediction.

Lastly, iOS 12, Apple's next-generation of software designed for iPhone and iPad, will add support for horizontal Face ID unlock. The horizontal Face ID support is likely designed for future iPad Pro models that could incorporate Face ID and the TrueDepth Camera system.
