Xcode 10's App Thinning Device List Shows A New Model Being Called 'iPhone XX'

Developer Guilherme Rambo said in a tweet that a device named "iPhone xx" was found in the Xcode 10's App Thinning device list, but it should be just a placeholder. Rambo noticed that the device's identifier is iPhone 9,7, presumably a "budget" iPhone, internal code-named LCP, with a model number of N84.

Rambo says the processor associated with ‘iPhone xx’ being the A10, a chip that's introduced alongside iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. So I don't think it indicates that 2018 iPhones to adopt that processor, I can almost sure that Apple will include A11 processor on a cheaper iPhone, if not A12. However, you never know that it could also be a cheap-built iPhone 7, or perhaps iPhone SE2.

Of course, the iPhone XX should not be the final name, otherwise, it will be embarrassing. Then again, Apple did the similar thing in WWDC 2017, where they didn't renew the macOS 10.3 naming scheme, instead, they call it macOS High Sierra, follows macOS 10.12 Sierra.

So what do you think of the new iPhone lineup should be called? Share your thought with us in the comment section below!
