Apple Announces New MacBook Air W/ Retina Display, Touch ID, USB-C, i5 Processor, And More

Apple announced a new generation of its low-cost MacBook Air to its lineup, comes in a new design and so many more features, every part of the new MacBook Air has been redesigned and reengineered. The price, however, slightly expensive than the previous generations, starting at $1,099 for 8GB of RAM, a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor, and 128GB SSD storage.


The MacBook Air featured with new Retina display that provides up to 4X of increases in resolution. The new laptop also supports Touch ID fingerprinting and is equipped with a T2 chip, the same as this year's new MacBook Pro and last year's iMac Pro. The new MacBook Air features a third-generation butterfly keyboard and a Force Touch trackpad.

Furthermore, there’s also an HD FaceTime camera, two USB-C ports and a headphone jack The new speakers are stereo speakers that are 25 percent louder and have more base. There’s a three-mic array to invoke Hey Siri. The battery lasts up to 12 hours of web browsing and 13 hours of movie playback. It uses an 8th-gen Intel Core i5 processor with up to 16GB of RAM (upgradeable) and an 1.5TB of SSD storage.

Apple also talked about the MacPort Air's most proud thin and light design, the 2018 MacBook Air is still 100% aluminum design, simple, beautiful, with Space Gray, Gold, Silver three colors. Overall is more compact and portable, the volume is reduced by 17%, and the thickness is also reduced like 10% that is only 15.6mm and weighs 2.75 pounds.
