iPhone 5, Apple's First Smartphone With 4-Inch Screen, Now Is A Vintage And Obsolete Product

Apple has updated its list of "vintage and obsolete products list " this week and confirmed that from October 30th, the iPhone 5 became an vintage product in the US and Turkey, and obsolete products in other countries. according to Japanese blog Mac Otakara.


Vintage means if an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Mac product is no longer in production for more than five years but less than seven years, while obsolete products are those that were discontinued more than 7 years ago. Whether it's vintage or obsolete, the product will longer receive services from Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

The iPhone 5 was a milestone product back in the day, because it's the first iPhone that use a larger screen, as models prior to the iPhone 5 used a 3.5-inch screen. It's also the first Apple smartphone to support LTE and first to include a Lightning port instead of 30-pin port. Oh, by the way, the iPhone 5 is the first to have 8-megapixel rear camera lens.
