During this year's shareholders meeting, Apple CEO Tim Cook said he has never been so optimistic about the company's current situation and future direction. When Cook begins to encourage investors, he said that Apple is planting seeds" and "rolling the dice" on future products that will "blow you away."


In a rather unusual tone, Cook said that said they plan to lower the price of the MacBook Air that it cost $1,200 right now. He also asserted that products related to Apple Watch and AirPods have "a long, great roadmap of fantastic." The CEO reveals that the Apple Watch will include more health feature, he pointed out that Apple acquired 18 companies in 2018 and been looking for more acquisition shots.

In addition to Tim Cook, other Apple executives also spoke at the meeting. Craig Federighi, Apple's software chief, for example, answered questions from shareholders concerning whether the new iPad Pro will be transferring video files over the iPad Pro’s USB-C port, and Craig replied that such functionality is coming.

Other highlights of the meeting included Apple acquired 18 companies last year, 50% of new Apple employees from underrepresented groups, and R&D spending tripled to more than $14 billion. Cook also used the stage to reemphasize Apple's view on privacy, diversity, environment, and so forth.
