Apple Cuts The Price Of HomePod By $50, Now Only For $299

Apple has lowered the price of HomePod to $299, down from the previous of $349. Not only in the US, but we also see a price drop elsewhere. Being two example, UK and China, where the UK saw the price of the smart speaking falling from £319 to £279, while in China, the HomePod now only listed for 2299 yuan, whereas earlier, it will cost you a 2799 yuan to purchase it.

The price cut comes as reports of HomePod only accounted for a small portion of the smart speaker market, with Amazon and Google dominates the area with a share of 70 percent and 24 percent respectively. In contrast, Apple only accounted for 6 percent of the market. This is mainly due to the fact that both Amazon and Google offer their speaker at a lower cost, but also being far intelligence than Siri.

Nonetheless, rumors did suggest that Apple consider launching an affordable version of the HomePod to compete with the rest of the market. As we reported last year, Apple may launch a speaker under the Beats brand. So here is the question, could the HomePod price cut possibly indicate that they would release an updated HomePod real soon? What do you think? Let us know in the comment section!
