Kuo: 2019 iPhones To Includes Wireless PowerShare And Larger Battery Capacity

Well-connected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is out with his latest research today that claims the 2019 iPhone will include the two-way wireless charging feature to allow the iPhone to charge other devices like the AirPods. Two-Way wireless charging, aka Wireless PowerShare, is a feature that already presented on Samsung's latest Galaxy smartphone series, enabling it to charge other Qi-supported devices. Kuo:

We expect the new 2H19 iPhone models will support two-way wireless charging. Though the iPhone is not the first high-end smartphone to be equipped with two-way wireless charging, this new function could make it more convenient for users to charge the new AirPods and create a better integrated user experience of the iPhone and AirPods.
Kuo went on by saying that suppliers like Compaq, who is expected to supply the battery board, and STMicro, who will supply two-way wireless charging controller, will benefit from this newly-added feature, and predicts that the key average price of key components will be increased even higher.

Lastly, the reliable analyst mentioned there will be battery capacity improvements for the upcoming iPhones. For the 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max successor, he expects the battery life to increase by 10 to 15 percent, whereas the 5.8-inch version could gain by 20 to 25 percent. Meanwhile, the iPhone XR successor is only expected to see a growth of 0 to 5 percent.
