2019 iPhone To Feature A New Taptic Engine, Slo-Mo Selfie Camera, And A13 Chip

According to a report by 9to5mac, Apple is expected to announce three new iPhones this fall, successor to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR introduced last year.

The report cited a source who have seen the new devices that all three models will include an overhauled Taptic Engine “leap haptics”. Rumors have suggested that 3D Touch is likely to be absent on all three models as Apple plans to replace it with long-pressed Haptic Touch menus. iPhone XR, released in 2018, already adopted the Haptic Touch technology.

All three iPhones to feature the new A13 chip, of which two of them will use OLED display, while the other will still include the Liquid Retina display. The screen resolutions of the three new phones remain unchanged from the previous generation. The report also said that Lighting port is expected to continue to stick around for another year, despite the 2018 iPad Pro already made a switch to USB-C port.

Furthermore, the article stated that the front-facing camera to feature slo-mo video recording at 120 frames per second. Otherwise, the biggest yet to be the rear camera system, in which case iPhone 11 and 11 Max will sport a Triple-lens camera setup. The extra camera will enable a new feature called Smart Frame that captures the area around the framed area in pictures and videos so that the user can adjust the framing or perform automatic perspective and crop corrections.
