Apple will unveil three new iPhones in September to replace the existing iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR models, and as we are getting closer to the month, leaks about the upcoming smartphones begin to pop up on the internet, and today, three different sources have released their expectations of the 2019 iPhones:
According to Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, this year's three new iPhone screens are the same size as last year, 5.8-inch OLED, 6.5-inch OLED, and 6.1-inch LCD models, with all three iPhone models to continue to include the Face ID, which means the notch isn't going anywhere. The 2019 iPhones will also be powered by the A13 chip, which is built on TSMC's 7-nanometer process.
Meanwhile, the new iPhone series will support two-way wireless charging, provide juice to your Apple Watch and AirPods, and because of that, the new iPhone's battery capacity will be increased to 3200 mAh, 3500 mAh, and 3000 mAh, respectively, corresponding to the next generation iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, a 20%, 10, and 2% increase in battery capacity compared to the 2018 iPhones.
Case site Mobile Fun have stocks for an iPhone 11 case from case maker Olixar. Interestingly, the case has a pocket designed specifically for Apple Pencil. Olixar seems to believe that Apple will bring the Apple Pencil support to the iPhone 11 and the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 models.
Of course, there's no evidence that Apple is bringing Apple Pencil to the 2019 iPhones. Although some rumors suggest that Apple Pencil will support the iPhone, there has been no reliable source to proof it. TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that Apple Pencil will be supported by the iPhone in the future, however, the specific timeframe is not clear.
Hong Kong website ChargerLAB claimed in a tweet today that the iPhone 11 will finally include a USB-C charger instead and a Lightning to USB-C cable in the box, however, note the connector on the actual device will still be Lightning, but the charging speed should be twice as fast as the 5W charger.
It has been long-rumored that iPhone will get the USB-C charger in the box, but the reality is Apple still bundles the 5W charger to its customers, although the company did debut this new charger with the redesigned iPad Pro models in October of last year.
