Reports: 2020 iPhones Could Feature 120Hz Display; SE 2 To Launch In March

A report from Taiwanese media DigiTimes stated that next year's new iPhones might feature a 120Hz refresh rate ProMotion display, which is the same as the iPad Pro. At the same time, noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the mass production of "iPhone SE 2" will kick off in January, with the debut in March...

DigiTimes says it "remain to be seen" whether Apple will adopt the 120Hz display, but they do expect that more 5G smartphones will come with displays offering high refresh rates for better user experience. Android phones with a 90Hz refresh rate display have appeared on the market, such as Google Pixel 4, ASUS ROG mobile phones, etc.
The arrival of 5G is ushering in hardware upgrades to support related applications and services. It is expected more 5G smartphones will come with displays offering high refresh rates that can enhance user experience. It remains to be seen whether Apple will launch its first 5G iPhone in 2020, or will adopt displays with 120Hz refresh rate...
Currently, all iPhone-equipped screens have a 60Hz refresh rate. Despite Apple released the 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2017, adding the 120Hz screen for the first time, however, the two tablets use LCD displays rather than OLED display on the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, whereas the iPhone 11 is targeted at mid-end market, thus, such a high-tech won't be used on a low-cost smartphone.

The iPhone SE 2, on the other side, should be available for purchase at the end of March if Ming-Chi Kuo was right for his prediction. Plus, March is the traditional time for the Cupertino company to release something new, and the fact that they released the original iPhone SE in March of 2016 further boosted Kuo's credibility.
