Apple Releases First Beta Of iOS 13.3 With Multitasking Bug Fixes

Apple today released the first developer beta for iOS 13.33 and iPadOS 13.3, one week after the public release of iOS 13.2. In iOS 13.2, Apple brought new features such as Emoji and Deep Fusion. At the same time, the company also issued the first developer beta of watchOS 6.1.1 and tvOS 13.3.

Beta 1's biggest highlight is it brings multitasking change that fixed the poor RAM management issue in iOS 13.2. It is manifested that when the user opens a certain app, other apps are cleared in the background, notably, an app that occupies a large RAM space (such as the Camera or Safari) that might cause all background apps to be reloaded, and thus lost the app progress.

Other new features and refinements in iOS 13.3 beta 1:
  • New on iOS 13.3 is that the Screen Time feature now includes communication restrictions that limit the time kids spend on their phone for messaging and FaceTime purposes.
  • Added option to not display the emoji button on the keyboard in keyboard settings
  • The Digital Crown of the Apple Watch app icon is grayed out, whereas before it was black.
It should be noted that developers already discovered bugs when connecting devices running on iOS 13.3 Beta 1 to Beats Solo Pro. It is recommended that Beats Solo Pro users not install the beta update.
