Analysts Claim iPhone 12 Lineup To Feature 6GB Of RAM

While Android smartphones have featured 6GB of RAM since 2016, it won't be until later this year that Apple's iPhone will jump on the train, according to UBS analysts Timothy Arcuri and Munjal Shah. The two also expects Apple plans to release a 5.4-inch, a 6.7-inch, and two 6.1-inch iPhone in 2020, and that all four iPhones will use OLED display, but other specs such as camera and RAM will vary by model.

In a shared research report (via MacRumors), UBS analysts provided an overview of the four iPhones that are expected to launch in 2020:
  • 6.7-inch iPhone: 6GB of RAM, triple-lens rear camera system (supports 3D Sensing)
  • 6.1-inch iPhone: 6GB of RAM, triple-lens rear camera system (supports 3D Sensing)
  • 6.1-inch iPhone: 4GB of RAM, dual-lens rear camera system
  • 5.4-inch iPhone: 4GB of RAM, dual-lens rear camera system
The camera specs are the same as those previously shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, plus the 6GB RAM in the two highest-end models is in line with Barclays analysts’predictions in November 2019.

UBS also surveyed more than 9,000 consumers in China, the United States, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom, and saw that 22% of respondents think 5G is a reason to upgrade their smartphones.
