Apple Launches Smart Battery Case Replacement Program For iPhone XS, XS Max, And XR

Apple has launched a replacement program for those who have experienced the charging issues with their iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR Smart Battery Cases, for example, cases that will not charge or charge intermittently when plugged into power, or cases that will not charge an iPhone or charge it intermittently.

Apple insists that this batch of affected smart battery cases were manufactured between January 2019 and October 2019. The iPhone maker, however, said that this is not a security issue and that Apple or Apple Authorized Service Providers will replace qualified battery cases for users for free.

It's worth to note that the plan does not include other iPhone battery cases, meaning that iPhone 11, 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max battery case users are not included in the program.

Apple said users affected by the affected smart battery cases can go to the local Apple Authorized Service Provider or the Apple Store to make an appointment to replace it. Smart Battery Cases will be inspected by staff to validate that they comply with the requirements of the program The affected cases will be handled in an environmentally friendly manner by Apple.

Since Apple launched the Smart Battery Case in early 2019, the product has been experiencing various faults and charging problems, in which some users have complained about it on social network sites.
