iOS 14 Leak Appears To Suggest iPhone 9 And 9 Plus Launch Is On The Horizon

9to5mac is out with another iOS 14 leak today confirming that there will be more than one low-priced iPhone to be launched, namely iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus. The two devices is expect to include A13 chips and replace the current iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus lineup.

Both the iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus have LCD screens and retain Touch ID. In terms of screen size, the iPhone 9 will feature 4.7 inch display, and the iPhone 8 Plus will accompany a 5.5 inch display.

The leak also appears to indicating that new models will be able to scan NFC tags in the background, something that is only possible with the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, or even just iPhone 11, but not with the iPhone 8 or iPhone X.

Since Apple is preparing to launch a 4.7-inch low-cost iPhone for $399, we expect the 5.5-inch version will be priced at $499. For the sake of comparison, iPhone 8 started at $699 when it first came out in 2017, meanwhile, the larger iPhone 8 Plus' original price was $799

Apple was said to be preparing to release the latest low-cost iPhone option in the first half of 2020, maybe as early as March, but it is unclear whether the coronavirus outbreak disrupted the company's schedule for launch the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus replacements.
