watchOS 7 To Include Kids Mode That Features Enhanced Activity Rings System

WatchOS 7, the upcoming landmark update to the Apple Watch operating system, will have a kids mode along with a range of other features. The child-friendly features will include the enhanced Activity Ring system that will allow children to stay fit while using Apple's popular wearable device.

9to5mac is out with a report that the iOS 14 code leaks suggest an Apple Watch will have different Activity Ring labels and goals when in kids mode than Apple Watch in regular adult mode. For many, this means the red moving ring that normally tells you the amount of active calories burned and the number of total calories burned in the day can go south very quickly in kids mode—it will not focus on calories burned.

Previously, 9to5mac reported that iOS 14 and watchOS 7 would include a new SchoolTime mode and kid mode, enabling parents to take control on what kids can do on their Apple Watch, even better, kids are not required to have an iPhone connected to use the Apple Watch in the future.

Apple is anticipated to announce watchOS 7 at WWDC event in June and will be made available to all eligible users this fall alongside the launch of Apple Watch Series 6.
