Apple has begun selling officially certified refurbished iPhone XR models in select colors and capacities for the first time in the United States today. Refurbished iPhone XR models deliver a 16 percent discount relative to the current price on brand-new phones, with $100–120 off the regular price.

• 64 GB: $499, down from the current $599 price, and $749 release price.
• 128 GB: $539, down from the existing $649 price, and $799 initial price.
• 256 GB: $629, down from the previous $749 clearance price, and $899 launch price.

Apple says the certified refurbished iPhone XR has been inspected, tested, cleaned, and repackaged thoroughly. The pack contains all the necessary accessories and documents. Every refurbished model will be replaced by a new battery and case, making it almost indistinguishable from the new ones. Each refurbished iPhone is covered by the standard one-year warranty, effective from the date the tablet is purchased.

First announced on September 12, 2018, at the Steve Jobs Theater in the Apple Park campus, alongside the higher-priced iPhone XS and XS Max, the iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch "Liquid Retina" LCD display and the same processor as the XS and XS Max, the Apple A12 Bionic chip. It is available in six colors: black, white, blue, yellow, coral, and Product Red.
