Apple's Premium Headphones 'AirPods Studio' Reportedly Under Production

Apple's premium over-the-ear headphones, which rumored to be called "AirPods Studio," is now under production, according to a new report from Taiwanese site DigiTimes, quoting supply chain sources.

As Apple is likely to accelerate dropping its wired earphones, the vendor will resume normal shipments for AirPods 2 in the second half of the year and its new over-ear headphones, dubbed ‌AirPods Studio‌, has also kicked off production, all securing growth momentum for rigid-flex boards suppliers for the devices, including Unitech Printed Circuit Board and Compeq Manufacturing, the sources said.
Just this week, The Information broke the news that suppliers Goertek and Luxshare will assemble at least a portion of Apple's headphones in Vietnam and begin shipments to the company in June or July.

Rumors have it that the "AirPods Studio" will feature Noise Cancellation, equalizer settings controlled through an iOS or Mac device, and head and neck detection, similar to the ear detection in the AirPods.

Apple could also be working on two designs: a premium one with leather-like fabrics" and a "fitness-focused model that uses lighter, breathable materials with small perforations," according to Bloomberg. Both versions may feature magnetic ear cups and headband padding that's able to be swapped out for a customizable look, something that's possible on the Apple Watch.

As for pricing, Jon Prosser of YouTube channel Front Page Tech says that Apple is planning to sell the AirPods Studio for $349, which is the same pricing as the current Beats Studio in the Beats lineup.
