Apple Updates 16-Inch MacBook Pro W/ New Graphic Cards, Mac Pro Gets SSD Kit

Apple has announced that it refreshed the 16-inch MacBook Pro and Mac Pro. The 16-inch MBP can now be configured with AMD Radeon Pro 5600M graphics card. while Mac Pro will get an SSD kit.


The 16-inch MacBook Pro was released in November 2019. The 16-inch MacBook Pro launched at that time used AMD Radeon Pro 5300M or 5500M. This time, users would be able to upgrade to the AMD Radeon Pro 5600M graphics processor with integrated 8GB of HBM2 memory.

Compare to the Radeon Pro 5500M with 4GB GDDR6 memory, the 5600's performance is up to 75%, compared with the previous generation 15 MacBook Pro, it is up to 3.5 times faster.

Mac Pro's SSD kit, notwithstanding, will allow users to upgrade internal storage from the original factory configuration. The user-installable kit includes two SSD modules and offers the following capacity options: 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, or 8TB. The kit can be installed by the user.

According to TechCrunch, the MacBook update is currently available through Apple.com. The SSD upgrade, meantime, is expected to be arriving later today.
