Leaker Says Apple To Release Newly-Designed iMac At WWDC 2020

Leaker Sonny Dickson broke the news that he expecting Apple to release a newly designed iMac at its virtual WWDC hold on the 22nd of this month.

The new iMac would look similar to the Pro Display XDR and will drop the Fusion Drive, instead, it will be getting a smaller SSD with a larger traditional hard drive to level speed and capacity. Apple will also add a T2 security chip to the new iMac.

The last redesign to the iMac lineup was in 2012, but now, the iMac has rather an outdated design. In 2018, Apple launched products with thin bezel designs such as iPhone X and iPad Pro, but iMac has not been significantly modernized.

In addition to the new slim bezel design, the new iMac will use the Navi-based AMD graphics card. As for what CPU will the iMacs include, our anticipation is that Apple likely to include Intel's new "Comet Lake" processors in them, although this may very well be the last time that Intel chips will power iMac.

Apple will hold its online-based WWDC event on June 22, where the company is expected new operating systems for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV.
