Classic iPod Game 'Music Quiz' Returns In iOS 14's Shortcuts App

The game, Music Quiz, designed for early iPod models, will make a return on iOS 14, however, it will exist as a feature in the Shortcuts app, rather than a stand-alone app, as first reported by 9to5Mac.

Music Quiz is a classic iPod game that tests users' knowledge of their own music library by playing random song clips from the onboard catalog and then it will give players options for selection and scoring.

After the game starts, the player will see five possible answers given by the game after hearing the audio clip version of a song. Meanwhile,, the system will also give the album cover and necessary track details. The new version adds the feature of game score sharing, which is not available in the original version.

The game will appear on iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. Users need to authorize Music Quiz to have access to the Apple Music Library in order to play. Proceed as follows:
  1. Open the Shortcuts app
  2. Tap the "My Shortcuts" tab
  3. Use the search bar to find "Music Quiz"
  4. Click the "Music Quiz" shortcut
  5. Allow the Shortcut to access your Apple Music Library
  6. Now you can play the game whenever you tap on the Shortcut.
Part of Music Quiz's return isn't just about to bring old memories of retro Apple devices but rather the fact that it shows the true potential of the Shortcuts app, which many are unable to take advantage of. But now with this new opportunity, it would allow them to explore deeper and understand how shortcuts were built.
