Leaker Jon Prosser said that Apple will hold the "iPhone 12" event in the week of October 12th. Pre-orders of the smartphones will begin later in the week and shipments will begin the following week.

Jon Prosser also said that Apple will release Apple Watch Series 6 and the new iPad through a press release in the week of September 7. It is unique for Apple to launch Apple Watch before the new iPhone is released.

Prosser called the news "in the system", "but the staggered release date and the "uncertainty of final dates for the Pro models" suggest the dates could "slip/change."

Last month, Prosser said that the iPhone 12 range and the new iPad will be launched in October.

Earlier, Apple’s chief financial officer Luca Maestri confirmed at the financial report meeting in late July that the iPhone 12 will be launched a few weeks later than usual this year but did not reveal the reason why it got delayed.
